- 20 years ago, on January 26th, 2003, our show premiered live after the Super Bowl on ABC. Jimmy talks about reviews of our first show, his mom making 400 cookies with his face on them to commemorate the occasion, celebrations in our honor around the globe, all of the things that have happened over the last 20 years, all of the great people who work on the show and helped get the show on the air, Guillermo’s security guard shack after we discovered him in the parking lot in 2004 vs his dressing room now, some of our most notable guest lineups from our first year. Also…didn’t know but Jimmy’s youngest son, William “Billy” is named after Guillermo…with William being the English version of Guillermo.
20 years ago he divorced and had one child. His current wife works on the show. But for a long time dated Sarah Silverman.

I love how Jimmy includes his family into the success of the show. Personally, one of several reasons I like the show is how Jimmy involves his own family. The guy is really appreciative to the success and realizes he is indeed a blessed man. I’m close to most of my family and if it wasn’t for them, I don’t know where’d I’d be today. So family makes the man and in his case, it’s made the show what it is these last 20 years

I am from Norway. We were lucky to get Jimmy Kimmel on TV from 2003-2009. It was part of my late night TV routine..But in 2009 there was no more Kimmel.... BUT... something called RUclips started blowing up! .. And there were more and more Jimmy Kimmel videos out there! Then came the Chanel! 20 years later, I still watch Jimmy Kimmel Live every night! :D
You can tell that whole crew admires and respects each other. They genuinely like one another, what they do, and they have fun while doing it. Therefore, they make a great product. Which is why the show has lasted as long as it has... just to answer Jimmy's question.

20 years ago, when Jimmy Kimmel first started on ABC, it was the last ever Super Bowl to ever be played in this month of January, and I was just in first grade, as this was all happening. And now seeing how far Jimmy has come to reach this historic milestone, it's a big honor to see how he's been faring with his show, as well as his life, despite the detractors, the critics, or even his rivals, that came along, in the show's path.
Jimmy, whatever you do, keep on rockin' it. ABC definitely wants to see more of you, each and every weeknight. Peace be with you, and your family.

It makes perfect sense. before Jimmy kimmel, stupid, uneducated people had nothing to watch except toddler aged cartoons but Kimmel made their dreams come true. Thank God we live in an age where even the dumbest people among us can be sufficiently entertained instead of thrown aside like the trash! What a great day it is!

I honestly think RUclips helped his show's sustainability. I never watched nor watch his show on TV as any other one, but I usually watch his monologues in the last six years.
He was the first to use and get the potentiality of YB for his show's growth.

Happy 20th anniversary Jimmy & crew! I like how Jimmy mixes current affairs and comedy so well. Seeing him talk so fondly of everyone he works with was sweet. When he says "I'm Jimmy I'm the host" it's always a subtle acknowledgement that there are so many other people working around him who make the show what it is.

i was studying in california in 2014, and went to see a show, with my friend Abed. We was front row, and interviewed by Kimmel. I will never forget that moment, he is such a fun and humble guy.
