      Oscar Outdoors Of course brother. I love fishing Espada Park. I used to buy rooster tail lures at the nearby Wal Mart and spent many weekends fishing there. Awesome channel.

      Isaiah Quintana my best day there was 15 bass and 5 perch. All small fish nothing big. I was using micro crank baits and rooster tails. It was really awesome though.

    Cast Nets are bad . They call it staining. Ruins the river bottom

      River bottoms constanly change due to wildlife, current, weather and of course human intervention. I do my best to practice conservation. Appreciate the view and comment.

      When you drive in the entrance to Espada Park, the falls are to the right before you cross the bridge over the river.

    Love watching you guys fishing in my neighborhood. Such great inner city fishing in San Antonio. Carp are so much fun. Everything from releasing the snake and turtles correctly, caching keeper cats, etc. It’s a great video except for one fucking thing…fuck,fuck,fuckity fuck and shit. Too bad no kids can watch this.     The round headed fish is either a Redhorse or a White Sucker. They are similar to carp and are bottom feeders.

    Looks like fun. The San Antonio river is one of the most polluted waters due that it carries the animal waste from the local zoo on a daily.

      Johan Parra yeah brother, i try not to eat them from at least this stretch of the river. But youll be surprised what you can survive on if you have to.

    I use to go into pioneer river downtown and catch by hand when they would open the dam.

      It would be big tilapia. Some catfish. Crawfish and turtles. Soft shell and hard shell. Even those sucker fish. And of course we would find stuff people would throw down there

    Awesome video man. I drove down there with my son a couple weekends ago but could not find that open area along the river bank. Is it on the other side of the of Espada park? All we saw was tall grass between the jogging trail and the river. Thanks man.

      Medium/heavy Shakspear spin cast rod and reel, 10-15lbs test fishing line, and assortment of baits, lures, hooks, sinkers and stuff, some sort of net or trap to catch live bait quickly, white bread and if you want, a bucket and a bag pack. Drinking water and something to munch out on.

    You should back down to that same spot and see about nabbing a gar. That section where you caifht the cat and carp is full of em. Harder to get to though, they lined that whole area with rocks.

      Roger Gutierrez look for fast running water then fish the slack water down stream of that. Use light to medium tackle. The fish are everywhere so target a specific species and go for that.

      J Ham yeah man. humanity jacks up a lot of natural things. same goes for almost all bodies of water in our state.
