I bought a bag of 100s of bait springs from Amazon for a couple bucks. You can spin a spring onto the bend of the hook next to its eye (or into the eye itself, if there's no bend there)... Which effectively turns any hook into a screwlock hook.
I saw a video about 15 years ago that used the line to come up under the soft plastic, it’s a knot for the life of me I can’t remember, are you familiar with it?

Pin them onto the eye using a toothpick. It can be tricky with heavy leader. The wood swells and locks itself in normally.

Where swimbaits have a lateral slot, do you run the hook through that or do you have the hook come out from it?

actually i been rigging that way because it easier to make the sp to be straight as possible.
How is it the advertisements have no issues?
You can order springs for eye on hooks on line cheep! I order 100 at a time!
Crushing the barb makes this second way much easier.
