The book you got out of the safe is a promo book for the movie. They are sent out to the publicist, Newspapers and sometimes given away at the initial screening. Check the date on the book.
Film stock that old likely needs some preservation treatment before being unrolled and trying to run it through a projector. (back in the early 90's I worked in the photo industry and helped a friend with a jackpot like this...a Navy duffel bag filled with reels upon reels of film shot in the 1930's...the friend's late great uncle who was a Navy officer before and during WW2...We had to get a bunch of chemistry that Kodak used to make to carefully treat the film as we unrolled it from one reel to another, then back again...increased the flexibility of the material). Search for a good local museum or university library...they can probably start you down the path of getting this stuff into the right hands.
Evening sir, I just started watching your videos I find myself practically on the edge of my seat watching you work. I wanted to ask you about where you get the safes? Do you have to buy them? And what do you do with the stuff that you find do you keep it or do you give it back to the person who owned the safe?
@@thomasanglin1751 morning. I get them anywhere I can. Auctions, online, word or mouth for people selling. I created a network of people I know that look for me. I do have to own them. Easier legally to show contents. But ocassionally I open someone's for free. I give back personal items if I can find the owner. My wife gets the sparkly items..
That was great. i love the way you worked out how to view the footage, ha, ha, ( i' ll make it myself) lol a right MacGyver you are, thanks for uploading.
@@safecrackerbot9742 A dark garage after midnight with reasonably well sealed doors is good enough. In highschool we used a bathroom with a couple of layers of really good weather stripping basically on the door...no windows fortunately...that was our darkroom.
Very interesting . I would imagine it is rare to find footage from so long ago.

What kind of bird makes that much noise at midnight?

Thanks !!!!
Is that a bird chirping at midnight? It has to be pretty loud if it's coming through the microphone.
I left the light on inside the living room and the birds were chirping...
@@safecrackerbot9742 oh pet birds. I got ya. Thought you might have some nocturnal birds in your neighborhood. Lol
Call the Roosevelt library and see if they would like to buy them for their archives.
@@samuelbaum5310 I did. Send them the digital file. Still wait im ng for an official answer on if it's never before seen footage
Note: Use RED LIGHT, NOT BLUE, in a completely darkened room if you want to examine possibly undeveloped film. Just an FYI.
Thanks!!!
