I love how the dress helper has such great cultural competency. She made great suggestions but then also said it’s okay to have a different opinion.
a small detail, but i think it was so kind of the dress helper to mention that because you lived overseas your taste in fashions might be different from theirs, so they wont think its rude if you tell them you want something else. i love the idea of doing the pre-wedding shoot like this and getting to experiment with different dresses! the photos turned out so nice!

I SO AGREE with having photos BEFORE the wedding day!!!. In the west, wedding photographs take HOURS, and all guests must wait for the photographer to finish with the bride/groom and members of the wedding party. This is exhausting for bride/groom, but also challenging for guests, who must defer any food until all the photos are finished. I've always found this practice inconvenient and even rude, but it's a cultural thing and very hard to break. What Korea does is ever so much BETTER!!
I think it’s very common to have your photoshoot before the seremony for that exact reason (so that guests doesn’t have to wait). At least in my country. 😅 Also i’m not sure if this sort of photoshoot is cultural thing or was it a kieun thing. 😃 loved it though
In the US while the Bride and Groom/Bridal party are taking pictures that's usually when a cocktail hour is happening for the guests. Quick bites and cocktails/drinks are served to hold the guests over until the reception starts. Most weddings in the US have always been that way, but some people in my generation (millennials) and Gen Z probably might forgo it to lower food costs for their wedding.
My friend is getting married next year. You're correct that guests will have cocktails and appetizers while the bridal party take photos. The time slotted for photos is 1 hr because no one wants their guests waiting very long or the bridal party getting hungry.
@@kareharpies yes usually an hour tops. I've been to a wedding where the cocktail hour was 30 minutes. I have no idea how the bridal party pulled that off with pictures. Most of the time it is usually 1 hour though

Or you can go the traditional route wearing a Hanbok wedding dress and forgo all the extra, it really is up to the couple, so no not everyone does this!!!
this tradition makes so much sense, tbh! and it's such a great experience to live with your fiancé before the wedding. I think it's best to be able to take your time to do photos that you can use right away for the wedding, instead of doing them during the wedding and only using them as memories
Lovely video of a lovely couple, wishing you all the best. Photoshoots are a great idea, they're beautiful souvenirs, only focusing on the bride and groom. Some people go all out, dressing up, themes etc. it also removes the pressure on the long and exhausting big day to pose, have great pictures. One can then focus on pictures with the family members.

I’m with you on the pre wedding shoot so much better than on the day when you are so aware of all the guests waiting to sit and eat etc. Far more fun the bride and groom. Your dresses choices were absolutely perfect and the groom looked very dashing. I found myself pointing into the earring selection going those ones😂. Gosh everyone worked so hard I’m sure you were all very tired but what a great day. Thank you for including us❤
Omg this looks seriously exhausting. Amazing results though. I don't understand this as wedding photos, but it makes so much sense to see them as engagement photos. Just trying to wrap my European brain around this. Its a nice idea to do this!

I'm also from Europe and to me it makes perfectly sense. You can just focus on the photos that day and can enjoy the wedding day without carrying too much if your hair and makeup are perfect and just let the photographer capture the moment with candid shots. For me, Kieun's shooting would be a little too much work but otherwise it seems like a smart idea! It's also a great way to test hair and makeup

As a foreigner who got married with a Korean in Korea, the whole photoshoot experience is one of my favorite memories and I cherish the photos so much! It was so nice to play dress up and be dolled up to look your absolute best without the stress of the actual wedding day! And it was so fun to try different styles on, I just loved it 🥰🥰

I live in Europe (Romania) and here engagement photoshoots are very common, but no one dresses as a bride, it's more like the last dress or even more casual, depending on each couple style. Some go to the beach and stuff like that.

Pre wedding photoshoot in Korea is amazing! Every detail is well thought out, from dress to makeup to poses. You look so good Kieun! ❤ We also do pre wedding photoshoot here in the Philippines. We call it prenup photoshoot and sometimes it also includes save the date videos. It is rare to do it in a studio here, more couples here prefer destination shoots. But this style is gaining popularity nowadays. I love it, everything looks so fresh!.❤ Congratulations!

Honestly I love this whole photoshoot with multiple outfits before the actual wedding. That day is likely going to be so manic anyway if you have a big wedding so this way it takes some of that pressure and time off the plate. We still haven't even had a proper wedding (Covid 🥲) but will definitely try to do something like this when we finally get around to it.
