This looks amazing! Gives me that nostalgia feel for Castlevania, and I'm currently on a Darksouls kick, and this looks like it'll scratch every itch. I want this game!
I got stuck above the crafting table and couldn't get back down - I think the game interpreted a jump command at the same time as the menu popped up to craft something (I'd already crafted the powder and silver key and didn't have materials for other items) and it tried to do both and left me walking around at the top of the jump. Part of the fun of little games like this! At least it's quick to restart! I really, *really* like what you and your team put together. Can't say I wouldn't be interested in seeing more of it in the future, after you've finished your current project. I really loved the art style, the somber tone, and the mechanics were very creative. I'm usually very leery of giving too much attention to streamers, but Thor does seem to be as good as his word and I'm glad it brought attention to you and your team, and so many others.

I only see the videos of this, I think that if you expand it, instead of the shadow being able to manipulate things imagine the shadow being able to manipulate shadows, the switches, the light is on one side of the object and it casts light in a way to make the switch cast a shadow, the knight pulls the shadow down, when the shadow is on the pressure plate, imagine the shadow needing to set up an object to be the shadow by manipulating the light. imagine these interactions create problems for the shadow itself, causing the light to create a shadow that blocks the shadow itself, but moved right could eliminate the obstacle.
I don’t see an issue either putting in art at the start. I can see how it might help, but for the sake of prototyping quickly, maybe you could have a basic character or something with a bunch of animations just so you can get to coding quickly. Cool game tho
yeah i really need to get into the habbit of making sure thing work first not only programmatically but int he scene that its actually fun before committing to adding any art but i really just cant get a good scene for it until its on there haha... but i do agree, for small prototypes there isnt really much harm!
