I didn't think anyone could sing this song as as good as Whitney Huston, but I was wrong... What a beautiful performance...
Even as a proud dane i would say whitneys is a hard act to follow. Her version is slightly better imo
I will do that. Thank you.
Sorry I had to disagree, I hated the Huston version, no feeling in it at all, and she tried to do the same. Still only one version with feeling Dolly.
It's a Dolly Parton song...
I'm not sure anyone could ever top Whitney, but Andrea gives an absolutely fantastic performance nonetheless
She has an amazing voice. She did this song justice and she sang it as well as Whitney Houston.
You're perfectly right
No she didnt...very far from it indeed...nobody can sing this song but Whitney herself...and ive heard heaps of female vocalists that have tryed but cant do it justice either...ONLY THE GREAT WHITNEY HOUSTON CAN SING THIS SONG IN THE WAY SHE SANG IT! AND THAT IS PURE FACT!

@@shereekendall1003haha you know this song is written and originally song by Dolly Parton right..?
But it's correct that a version was made for The Bodyguard which was sung by Whitney Houston. But to go as far to say she's the only one who can sing it, is just not true.
You really should listen Whitney's interpretation again, this girl is not even close, yet she did her best
Andrea Lykke Oehlenschlæger,, YOU KILLED IT... JUST WOW!
Andrea lykke
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO LET THE NOTES SOAR WITH STRAIGHT TONE THEN TO VIBRATO ON "AND I" THIS IS THE BEST COVER I'VE SEEN!!
The Danish National Symphony never ceases to impress me with the amazing talent they bring to these concerts. One of the best versions of this song I've ever heard.
There is no Danish National Symphony, so what are you talking about ??? We have a National Anthem, but thats all....
@@dockingtroll6801 I think they were referring to the orchestra bud
@@begginertechtuts4942 So you are saying they are stupid and dont know the difference??
@@dockingtroll6801 okay calm yourself big man, let's just rethink the situation without freaking out over small details okay? first off, it wouldn't matter whether or not they knew the difference. Not a lot of people would even know or even care to put "orchestra" at the end of this group's title. And second, I think you're stupid not them, mostly due to the fact that you're ignorant towards how other peoples' extent of knowledge. And third, how could you not have initially recognised what they were talking about?? Please don't impose your idiotic behaviour to people who are just trying to have a chill moment on RUclips, after watching such a great performance.
@@dockingtroll6801 Lastly my guy, I think you should really take a walk outside and realise that you're not the only one in the world that has varying degrees of knowledge, your lack of tolerance and discrimination is wholeheartedly hilarious, because you lack the intellect to disguise your own ignorance.
Absolutely perfect , thank you all for your talent , hard work to get there and your performances that bring joy to so many people.
Our pleasure!
Yes, you're right.
Q belleza
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how an audience should be: respectful, without interrupting, holding its applause/response until after the performance is completed. The typical 'reality show' mid-performance applause, shouts, etc. are from those whom my former junior high chorus director called "musical clods."
I think this also because unwritten rules when attending symphony orcestra concert. I was ever work as staff concert like this, guarding enter gate. I not allowed open the gate for any audience who come late. I only open gate when they finish play one song. So i guess the other unwritten rule is don't interrupted with give applause in the middle of song.

Amen
I'm glad they gave credits to the original singer and writer of the song, Dolly Parton.
Wow........!!!! Excellence is the manifestation of perfection in balance, and that is exactly what this performance displays. Andrea Lykke Oehlenschlæger's vocal range/voice combined with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra is just 'other worldly. I have listened to/seen more than a hundred different versions of this very popular and yet challenging song, and yet this is absolutely the very best performance yet. In fact, it is better than Whitney Houston's performances.... I said that very reluctantly, but it is still TRUE. I am in tears!!!!
WOW! What an incredible voice! 😘
We can enjoy her voice without comparing.
Edited: Outstanding performance 👏🏻 Whitney would definitely be proud of her 🤍
This is someone else's comment, but he / she hits the nail on the head: "Listen to Dolly's original version when your heart is breaking, listen to Whitney's version when you're ready to move on. I don't know why, but you can feel the difference."
Dolly wrote the song about her own break up with Wagoner; Whitney's is an interpretation.
Excellently said.
wow, gold. everyone is the main character. every single artist is shining.✨
She's such a great singer with a powerful voice and the music from the orchestra was impeccable. ❤
If I should stay
I would only be in your way
So I'll go, but I know
I'll think of you each step of the way
And I will always love you
I will always love you
Bittersweet memories
That's all I'm taking with me
Goodbye, please don't cry
We both know that I'm not what you need
But I will always love you
I will always love you
I hope life treats you kind
And I hope that you have all
That you ever dreamed of
And I wish you joy and happiness
But above all of this, I wish you love
And I will always love you
I will always love you
I will always love you
❤
Wundervoll Ich liebe Ihre Stimme in Combi mit dem Orchestra hab mir alle Videos mehrfach angesehen
I never knew that someone could actually sing this song like Whitney. This is the first time I've seen someone do this song this way. Wow! She is angelic.
This girl absolutely incredible 👏 😍 🙌 ❤️
The heavens open up with Alsta Andrea's voice, the harp opening, and also congratulations to the Danish Symphony Orchestra. "I Will Always Love You." ❤️
You are a STAR, Andrea Lykke!
This is one of the most magical concert I've ever witnessed. The singer, the orchestra... everything... I'm sure Whitney is smiling down at this beautiful singer. The way the song was delivered - It's so beautiful that I almost cried. Thank you for this wonderful moment you shared to us.
She absolutely amazing. She sing effortless and talented. I think this song is so hard and noone can sing as good as withney but her showed all that her can be better. Wowwwww so much love her voice 🤍🤍🤍
Another beautiful performance of Dolly Parton’s song.
Nobody remmembers it as Dolly's. Whitney was the one who made it famous. People associate it with Whitney and not Dolly, and it's perfectly fine.
@@melissafigueiraferreira5794 Why are you so pressed? The original poster didn't mention Whitney at all but that's fine! It IS originally Dolly's song... they weren't dissing Whitney😭
@@whatsinaname2288 I'm not pressed by anything... It's certain that almost nobody knows this was a song originally by Dolly. So what's the use in saying it's hers? I didn't find out about it until very recently myself either, actually. What's the use of referring to it as Dolly's if, despite it being true, Whitney is the one people associate the song with anyway?
@@melissafigueiraferreira5794 It's likely that "almost nobody" knows its Dolly's song BECAUSE she doesn't get enough credit for it! You don't want people to know it's Dolly's song? I don't see the problem with admiring renditions of her song. Give credit to whom credit is due.
@@whatsinaname2288 But I never said I relish in the fact that Dolly's song isn't as famous. I just stated that it's no use really to refer to it as Dolly's because, to everyone, it's always gonna be Whitney's song. No matter if it was Dolly's first. I listen to this and I immediately remmember Whitney, not Dolly. And it's totally normal and understandable. Do you think of Prince when I mention "Nothing Compares 2 U?" Exactly. You think Sinead O'Connor. Her version became bigger. And there's no wrong in saying it's a Sinead song.
Now it's a bit over a year ago I had the great experience to attend the Hollywood Gala concert. This song was one of the early performances in the more than two hour long show. I had not looked especially forward to this song, but I was really impressed by the vocalist Andrea Oehlenschlæger, the sax solo and the entire arrangement. The show was a bit overwhelming for me, and then it is nice to be able to recapture the performances in video clips like this one. The recording for television was done over three nights, I think, but most of the songs was recorded the Friday evening I watched the show, and I'm certain that it is true for this song.
Near the end for the song (4:42), Andrea looks to her right and send a smile. I had a seat at one of the first rows and I felt that the her smile was directed right towards me, but looked over my shoulder to see if it could be someone sitting behind me. A couple of mounts later I saw in a magasin, that Andrea had got married and it was to the man who had been sitting just to me right. Before the concert I spoke a little with him about what to expect, and he praised the male vocalist (not in this song) and claimed he had never heard about Andrea. His last name is Brygmann and he has definitely inherited the sarcastic humor from his in Denmark well known father.
Back to the show. I think the best description of the show in one word is 'perfection'. Not only from the vocalist and musicians, but also from the director and producer. It must have been a huge task in planing and preparations. In the videos we can also enjoy the nice camera work and sound recording. For me an unforgettable evening.
Why haven't I heard of this magnificent woman? Denmark you are dropping the ball. Get her out there.
she is taking good care of herself ;)
