  • A big welcome to several new subscribers to my RUclips channel, and with that I'll reward you all with this selection from the Osborne Brothers show at the McLain Family Band Family Festival in 1979, at Big Hill, Kentucky. The videography was all done by the great "Jubilee" mobile tv crew from Kentucky Educational Television.
Sonny Osborne (banjo) leads things off with a moment of praise for his amazing banjo, then is joined on the song by Bobby Osborne (mandolin), Paul Brewster (guitar) and James Brock (bass), for this clever and memorable song written by Boudleaux Bryant.

My favorite Osborne Brother’s song. That old D-28 Paul is playing is thumping👍. Does any one know the history of it?

Some people would argue that is the best banjo ever made in the history of banjos and the price tag is to the Moon whatever somebody wants to pay for it some say it could easily fetch 100 million

I heard he paid 150,000 for the banjo back when he first bought it and since then he has been offered 2.5 million for it and he passed it up

Those are higher numbers than I've ever heard. I'll try to check with his protege and friend Lincoln Hensley...
