Thanks for the Video, Bought mine back in the early 80s while in the Army. hacked a lot of mess with it and carried it on my LBE. Many an officer were pissed because I wouldn't sell the monster. I'm 62 now and it has held up better than myself.
They are like 145 to 165 on Amazon in 01 tool steel and ,that one you have is a gem if I had it I would retire it because of all that history it has and have it cleaned up professional. Appreciate you sharing.
I just bought a us made carbon v almost perfect for 45 bucks with a perfect sheath. I couldn't believe what a deal I got. Its practically brand new. I'm just giddy about it. I own a San mai trail master too. This will be my go to Bowie now. 45 bucks! 45 bucks! Cant wait to use it. Its probably 20 or more years old.
Hey the trail master hold up amazing over the years of use. Quick question, did You glue the handle at some point because it looks like that near the guard. Thx for answer :-)

I am 50+ can relate.
Also now comes in San Mai III ! It's an awesome knife, made in Japan, and is full convex grind, so a very robust cutting edge!
That knife is gorgeous because of the honest hard use. Thanks for sharing!

I love mine.
Send it back to Cold steel, and have them clean it up. They are great knives, I have one.
That's what I would do, and have them clean up that nice blade and piece of Cold Steel history.
