    Well, learned something again. I might never have thought of using a large pair of pliers to pull the battery out, and gotten my fingers pinched, damaged the plastic around it trying to fish it out with a screwdriver, punctured the battery with a screwdriver digging it out, or all three. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge in these videos Mustie!

    4:20 -From experience I found that those bolts strip really easy, so try to loosen it from the nut first. If that fails, try using wd40 or some sort of rust remover then try again, if that doesn't work give up and cut it off, trust me its not worth the effort of tediously removing a rusty screw because you will just end up having to deal with putting it back on, so if you can replace those I would recommend doing it sooner rather than later. Don't do what I did and deal with it because I had to deal with taking it off and back on over a dozen times, each time thinking it would be the last. Moral of the story, Don't procrastinate on the small stuff.

    Slowly going thru all of your videos. Was a shade tree mechanic in the early 70's I recognize a lot of what your working on. Although being born and raised 20 miles south of Miami the snow blowers are from another world. As I'm racing thru my 60's you bring two things to mind. One, I'll always trust a man who does doughnuts and two (my mantra since my late teens) growing old is mandatory and growing up is optional and I opted out of growing up along time ago (just ask either one of my x-wives). I have figured out the number 1 rule for being old...never trust a fart. Thanks for the videos they create lots of brain giggles.

    If you want us to guess, it's probably NOT hydrolocked like you thought. The possibilities are endless. 1. You had the drill turning in the wrong direction, and when it finally ignited some fuel...you get the picture. 2. More of those walnuts fell into the CVT belt/sprockets and jammed it. 3. Walnuts fell into the bottom end (from the intake where the carb was?) and jammed it. 4. CVT caught and tried to turn the axle, but the rear end is still locked for whatever reason. 5. Starter finally worked loose and tried to engage. I have a headache from squeezing my brain, so I'll stop now. ROFL!! Keep up the great work!

    Me and my friend put his Suzuki LT50 "noppeli" together again after sitting for seven years. His childhood repairs on it were mostly zipties and duct tape and some bad welding. No cleaning or anything done to the thing probably ever and some parts were missing. Under the gunk and grime we found a small ATV that started on fourth pull after giving her some gogo juice through the plug hole. We found all the missing parts too and took her out for a 10mph rip around his property. What a mighty little thing. She hauled over 200 pounds of man with relative ease.

      @@danmackintosh6325 He is turning the Bendix clockwise to engage the starter gear (its on left hand side), causing a counterclockwise rotation of the engine. When he is spinning the engine by using the rotor nut (right hand side), he is spinning the drill clockwise. That would cause the CVT clutch, (left side) to spin counterclockwise, its spinning the countershaft, that has a sprocket on the right hand side, that spins clockwise. Facing left side of the engine, it spins counterclockwise, facing right hand side (thats the side he is spinning the drill from in a clockwise rotation) the engine spins clockwise. At 36:40 you can see him turning the bendix clockwise, engaging the starter gear, causing it to turn counterclockwise. If you were able to see the rotor on the right hand side of the engine it would be spinning clockwise, the same direction he spins the drill.

    • @trevorjameson3213
      @trevorjameson3213 5 лет назад +3

      @@twiz8789 That was my observation too. I think all the shaking around while he was spinning it with the drill caused the bendix gear to re-engage into the crankshaft gear, causing the sudden stop. I didn't see enough water to cause hydro lock, but maybe? It's a two stroke, so maybe some was forced up the intake ports from the crankcase, into the cylinder? I don't know though, because the base gasket was shot, so no compression from the crankcase, may not be able to force water into the cylinder. He's lucky he didn't break his thumb, that was a pretty violent stop.

I'm into computers and I go to the dump and have found everything from CPU's worth saving to memory to even fully built computers. I've even found a Mac Pro (the old tower type, Intel Xeon) with only missing HDD and a bad DVD Drive.

    Another great video. Looking forward to watching the next one where you "solve" the mystery. Several guys commented on Mustie quotes and T-shirts. You should put together a line of Mustie swag. T-shirts, coffee cups, etc. I know I would buy some of the stuff. Could be a great income stream for you.

    It's a Quadsport LT80. You'd be amazed how valuable the parts are off of these are on eBay. I've made $1000 in parts off of one that was in a lot worse condition than this one. Looks like it just dry-seized on ya.

    that little quad has an interesting front suspension design the pivot for both A arms is in the center that's kind of cool must make the geometry simpler and don't worry about the thumb it happens to all of us I busted my knuckle bad just yesterday tightening a cam pulley bolt to 80 foot pounds with a cheap torx on a torque wrench got it to click once right before it slipped and sent my right hand right into some solid engine hard and fast that one hurt and its still sore today don't worry there was only a tiny bit of blood
