Primal re-establishes why animation exists. It's not just to regurgitate toy advertising for children ( which is a sickness in entertainment), or just to puppet comedic radio plays. Animation is a tool to tell stories from the imagination, to take the audience to places with a vivid unspoken language. Thankyou for finally giving the adult audience something truly magical ( and I don't mean freakn super powers).
You could tell me Genndy is in charge of any series like Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Anime, live action or animated and I’d have my full confidence that he would make it awesome. Can’t wait for more primal.
I wish I watched this when it first aired because this is phenomenal. Every episode has so much emotion without any dialogue and the animation is top notch
@@nicolasriveros943 Filming is long finished but its normal for editing to take WAY longer than filming. Especially when you arent a huge hollywood studio with 1mil CGI masters and weta working for you but instead are just a guy in a basement and since there isnt money for studios etc, nearly all of the things are CGI. even the police office in the original was CGI cuz of course there is no such thing in sweden (where it was made) or a way to build such a studio for free.
I grew up seeing Tartakovsky's name at the end of cartoon shows on Cartoon Network. He might not know this but he played a big role in me being a creative as an adult.
The episode with the old witch craft dudes that steal the essence of man to create a new baby was so deep and creative you hate them in the beginning but find sympathy for them by the end ! This is a excellent artful addition to a sad and somber adult network
I really love this show. It is not often where a show can takes its time with the storytelling. There are no dialogue in the show, yet you can understand so much based on visuals and the actions of the two main characters. It makes it engaging because you are allowed to think and interpret the story the way that you want.
One my favourite series of 2019 along with Amphibia and Infinity Train. We deserve more adult animations like this: Brutal, beautifull and great work behind!
Loved Samurai Jack and Symbionic Titan and was completely blown away by Primal. Totally love it was so drawn in to it fully. I cried and was in Aww. Loved the end season finally and he spoke her name
Nice. I like the fact that he wants to put motivated and upcoming artists in on his work and also create a new pallet to his creation. A great team he has made and directed. Also the VA for Spear really does an amazing job in trying to just capture raw emotion
Genndy is a master of storytelling and his animation style (samurai jack and primal) are very similar In my opinion he needs to make more shows for adult swim he knows how to do it right.
Look up Korgoth of Barbaria, for which Tartakovsky was the animation director. The fact that it never became a series is a huge loss, but Primal feels like Tartakovsky's way of bringing us to that type of savage and primordial world.

Genndy absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one, I've been a big fan since essentially Samurai Jack and Clone Wars blew me away so when I heard about this I rushed to watch it. The first 5 episodes were great but the next 5 somehow improved upon what we already had. So excited for season 2 and this is a really cool video!
Yeah gendy and his amazing team are the nova that lead us to the golden age of cartoon network. They have worked on so many shows. Dexter, power puff girls, sym byonic titans, teen titans, samurai jack. 3 of the are gendys own work.. he could definitely give cn its shine back or jump start a chain of events that lead to another golden age.. primal is already award winning in so many catagories
