My favorite dog in media is without question Missile from Ghost Trick. Shu Takumi somehow captured the entire essence of "Dog" and put him into a character and it's wonderful. He is the goodest boy and I love him to no end.

Awesome video! I am a bit surprised that you didn't touch on games where you PLAY as the dogs in its entirety! Okami is a great example where you play as Amaterasu, the reincarnation of the god of the sun but as a wolf! A more obscure one would THE DOG Island where you get to play as up to 40 different breeds of dogs!

Here before the description changes, it was Rivals in VG. Anyways, here for engagement. No hate all love for any companions in games! Also good channel with actual gameplay citations.
My favorite dog in video games is Milla from Freedom Planet. She's an anthropomorphic basset hound who uses her ears to fly and can summon psycho cubes and shields to attack enemies. She's also the epitome of childlike wonder and innocence. My point is: go play the Freedom Planet games; they're incredible.
I played the first one. Finished All three characters.
My best way I can describe it,
Is that it had a 'game three' level of story and gameplay.
I honestly think there should have been some kind of prequel game made at some point.
I see the potential. I just see FP1 as a mixed game. There's plenty to enjoy, But there's also a lot that feels unmotivating to continue.
Just remember that this is my opinion. Enjoy any franchise or genre you like.

One dog not mentioned here that I liked quite a bit is Hayataro from SMTV/V Vegeance. SMT is no stranger to dog demons, as we already have Orthrus, Cerberus and Fenrir, but Hayataro not only has a distinct design, but is the primary demon of one of the main characters of SMTV, Yuzuru Atsuta. And his loyal and steadfast personality is a great fit for Yuzuru’s ambition to protect people, to the point where he tries to talk him out of fighting the protagonist when manipulated by one of the villains in the Vegeance route.

My favorite dog in video games has to be the Beast Legion from Astral Chain. Not only does he have really cool-looking sync attacks, his Howl skill is really useful for crowd control

Although I love Koromaru he is not the mascot of Persona 3. It is Aigis, she is a cute robot anime girl so the merchandise is selling like hotcakes in Japan. and more importantly she is the canon romance in the movie and manga and big hints in the game itself, she was on the box art of the dancing game she was kind of the 2nd protagonist in main game and took over the protagonist role in episode aigis/the answer and she was a big focus in 4 arena ultimax. With so many things going on why not make her the mascot

or the Duck Hunt dog (Duck Hunt) or the dogs from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, even tho you can't pet them they will help you find items if you feed them enough meat
tho speaking of dogs, did you know Donald Duck has a dog? (not video game releated I know, but it's a nice fun fact for those of you who didn't already know)

Im absolutely not a dog person but all dogs are good even if some are trained for more dangerous situations like pit bulls which could lead to them harming an animal or human very badly.

Although yeah I have noticed in the original pokémon games they do mention real world things like in that museum in Pewter City They mentioned space shuttle Columbia in fact you actually see a space shuttle just sitting there in the museum. Kind of weird because I just could never imagine pokémon being in our world
