Such an important position, and these solid and aggressive techniques that set up the takedown are much appreciated.

My buddy and trainer has been teaching me this Russian 2-on-1 (he is a fan of your channel!); good stuff, and I like the short-focused video! 👍🏼

@@systemacanada I definitely like that you use stronger guys in your lessons. I did have a question about that, however. When we try to use your techniques during sparring, we noticed that when the opponent "tenses up" his muscles certain techniques become a lot harder to perform. Do you have a video on how to remedy this? Or do you just soften them up with punches and kicks?

@@thompsonM1928a4everything is harder with full resistance and messier. It will never look beautiful under real conditions. Striking for sure and grinding, twisting, bumping and anything you can do to disrupt their physical and mental balance always. In jujitsu we say the first step of any technique is to test and break the balance. Deception and feinting also works. You’ll notice in this video how I’m showing all the ways to disrupt and cause pain. The only missing element her is pressure. In life it will be a grapple. Feet will constantly be moving and you need to do these actions in the move but for a demo it becomes to hard to see. My next download is on pressure testing. It shows the difference between drilling and testing. Of course pressure testing is harder and can carry more risks but it’s important to at least understand what it looks like. Ultimately modified boxing and wrestling are the two main skill sets we use to test ourselves

I was just watching a DVD by Daniel Verkerke called “Seicho Jutsu - Advanced Armlocks. A lot of the things you are saying in this RUclips video are similar to Daniel Verkerke’s DVD. By the way he is from Canada also.

Obviously not hitting the nuts for real. This was an all police trainer seminar focusing on blade survival so it exceeds typical civilian pressure and intensity.
