I spent months with a physical therapist and could never engage properly. Thank you SO much for this amazing explanation. Wow. I am so grateful I found your videos.
I've watched a few dozen videos on the topic of breathing properly while engaging the core. Yours is the first to give me something that I understand. Others are just too vague, imprecise, and worst, not based on scientific knowledge. I'm going to watch more of your content because my core muscles are so weak, the remedial strengthening work intended for childbirth recovery just might be a good place for me to start.
I also find it very difficult to feel whether I'm doing it correctly when lying on my back. But my physio therapist told me that it's easier to do it while lying on your side. And I find it's easier to avoid doing the mistakes you mentioned while on your side.
Same, but its okay! It just means that you need to learn how to activate your core proply, keep going though! I managed to get abs even without activating my core proply, never give up and try your hardest! And don't forget it's ok to ask for help sometimes, and to maintain your weight I recommend you exercise 3 times a week to easily maintain your weight, but it all up to the person who is doing it after all! Good luck and stay happy!
Wow! Thank you!!! Been a ballet dancer for years and now am a mom of 2 littles and this is by far the best description I have ever heard of how to correctly execute!!!
Yep worked for me to! I pretty sure I worked well as I noticed my lower core is activating much easier then before, keep helping others! ✨ 🥂 P E Å C E 🥂 ✨
This came at the perfect time I was working out earlier and was literally just sucking my stomach in and struggling to breathe. I know it seems so simple but its really not 😁
Hi Rella, yes, it’s not simple at all and I find I keep getting better the more practice. I will think I’m doing pretty good, but looking back I still had a lot to work on 🤪
@@PregnancyandPostpartumTV Hopefully now by do this correctly it will help heal my diastasis recti much faster although i'm pregnant with baby number 2. Thank you for your video.
I feel it in my neck and like a electric fence is running through my lower back and leg.. idk why its so hard to coordinate the tensing and moving with breathing, im been trying for months and it doesnt go smoothly
@@PregnancyandPostpartumTV when i flatten my back on floor and try engaging my core it should be hard to breathe while keep my belly flat when I'm doing abs workout right?
Hey Jessica...hope u r doing good 🤗. Thanks for this video I ll try to engage my core ... I am mother of 3 yr old son... I have a question, I have 2 finger diastisis towards my naval.. is running and skipping good for me?
Hello I have a b shaped belly or hourglass syndrome. Im trying to find a good exercise to help me fix it. Ive never been pregnant, im 5’1 and 60 kilos. Dose this exercise helps me improve my core and get rid of the b shaped belly
I have diastasis above the belly button, i have been doing these exercises, and i am able to engage my core, but i am not finding any improvement in the above the belly button area. Can u suggest anything more
Can it be too late to repair the diastasis recti? What if it hadn't been done soon after the first pregnancy 6 years ago and then there were 2 more pregnancies (also without any physiotherapy afterwards). Knowledge about the DR healing in some countries is really inexistent and I have a friend who believes it's too late for her now.
It can be hard to feel at first. Try for a couple weeks to see if you can build up the muscles to do it and then often people will start to feel it. or a physio would be able to get their hands on you to help you!
If you suck in then your ribs will expand. You want to pull everything in as if a corset is being tightened around you as you exhale. Your ribs pull in and down and you tighten your core (but not so much you could be punched) Just to firmly engage.
First pregnancy 28 years ago, another one 9 years after that and my last pregnancy 8 years ago with no repairing in between or after. Am I too far gone to try and fix my core?? I literally feel like I’ve set myself up to fail at attempting to get my abs back😩
Hi Tammy, no it’s not too late. It will take longer, but with consistency it’s doable. Did you see my DR healing guide? Even if you don’t have DR ... it’s got helpful strategies for core repair landing.mailerlite.com/webforms/landing/n0h5d6

Um wow, only took me 34 years to learn this. All this time I thought engaging your core was sucking in my stomach.
May God bless you and protect you! John 3:16! Have a great day!
Yes,I can feel it thank you.

Is this how you should engage your core during prenatal workouts as well? Or only postnatal?
I can't feel that core it's so damm difficult
It is really difficult to find. Sometimes it just takes time and working on it and then it clicks for you after a couple weeks.
Thank you, I was over engaging lol
It's standing up exercises I find this difficult to do, as I find it's easy to to this lying down but not standing
Should i wear any belt regularly ?
Damn it why is this soo tough😭😭😭Is it bcoz I'm overweight I really don't feel my core at all?? I can't engage it l
I am overweight and have a belly "apron"... is there a way to do it right without feeling the boney points? Mine are too cushioned to feel lol

How can i pulling it in without sucking. I am so confused. Should i make it like someone is punching me on my belly and i squeeze my belly?

I had a c section 8 months ago and all I feel is sponge below my navel. Can't Locate the area you mentioned 😢😢
Is this safe 4 weeks Postpartum?
Yes 🙌

I can’t do it 😭
