    I honestly feel when Jerry dies, because he's not going to sell, the moment of silence will be a chorus of boos just like it was for the Blackhawks when the old man died in the 2000s

      Unless his son takes over and repeats same cr*p. The Chicago Blackhawks hadv the same continue before the old man when his father died and he continued for + 20 more years . Arthur Wirtz told son Bill " Shut Up" whenhe said he's right , when Bobby Hull wanted more money because he brings the fans in . Hull left , Blackhawks collapsed

    I am from Chicago and first of all Kanas City was looking for a manager and Pedro was their bench coach and they didn't hire him..first red flag 😳. Second of all I don't want someone internally like Getz get a proven GM and someone that can draft and trade and develop player's

    • @baltoandtogo
      @baltoandtogo Год назад +2

      The White Sox organization loves to hire internally, don't they? Especially ex-Sox players who may or may not have any qualifications. Excellent point about Pedro, as well.

      I don’t think that’s a very good argument. The Sox had Terry Francona back in ‘96 but passed him over to hire Bevington instead. By your logic, that means hiring Francona would have been a bad move

    David Kaplan reporting Kenny had authority to trade with Yankees and Marlins only lol. What kind of messed up bs is that. Rick Hahn could trade with everyone else. Jesse on right path, Os plucked Elias out of Hou to build same in Baltimore. Its been wildly successful in spite of moron owner

    Until Jerry sells the team, or unless his son turns out to be the second coming of Rocky Wirtz, this is all academic. There is no Michael Jordan of baseball to fall in Jerry's lap. The Sox will be awful for the foreseeable future.

    Nothing wrong with allowing Getz and other internal candidates to compete for the job, but why not do a more objective open competition to listen to and consider other candidates who may be more qualified? Another question: why did they let Williams and Hahn make all the trades at the deadline if they were going to be let go later? That saddles the new GM with the old GM's decisions and they're stuck with those players for the short term. AJ makes this point at 6:00, and I couldn't agree more.

      I had the same thought. KW and Hahn should have been fired July 1st and a new team hired or they should not have been allowed to unload their roster. (Truth be told, though, was that Lynn and Burger were the only players worth a damn.) Jerry probably just wanted the salaries unloaded.

    The White Sox have been far too insular in the front office for decades. They haven't gone outside the organization since Ron Schuler in the early 90's.
    The frustrating thing is that Ron Schuler seemed to be pretty good at developing front office talent (Kim Ng, Kenny, Dan Evans) and that stopped when Kenny became the GM.

    Hal should follow Jerry's plan. Fire the president and the GM.

    Way to stack the odds when saying a team is operating at 75 percent capacity rather than the normal 100. Saying others are operating at 110 percent is just piling on, fella. Take it easy!

    Totally agree with A.J. Getz would be a huge mistake. He should be gone just like Williams and Hahn. We don't need any holdovers from the previous regime. Clean house on this disaster of an organization. Don't alienate your fan base any further, while you still have a fan base. I'm speaking as a lifelong White Sox fan for almost sixty years.
