Many factors are there to find and identity the fault. However, just observing the transmission line, it's not possible to find out fault. Relays will shows that at what type of fault circuit breaker tripped. Like it's earth fault, line to line fault or anything at this ich of kilometer/distance. For more watch my other video. Yes he has not explained properly, actually when we do tandelta and apply voltage, insulation are like capacitance, so in them capacitive current generates, that capacitive current is with 90 deg angle to voltage next is all ok explained well.
Tan Delta Test is done to find: (Insulation life of cables) 1) Capacitance value 2) Dissipation factor 3) Deterioration factor Done by Meggar The Meggar has 2 units: 1) Transformer Unit and 2) Control Unit They are both connected by a cable so that the control unit can give control command to the Transformer unit on how much Voltage (KV) is to be applied The Meggar also have an earthing unit. Here the Transformer unit and the Control unit both is connected by a common earthing lead able.
