She looks like her mom, Patty... She has had her high ups and downs in life dealing with life on the way, hoping her future will come out for the better.
I lived the Patty Hearst SLA era and was so happy to hear that Lydia’s mother was able to change her life and live a good life with her husband. They created a well-rounded family and great to see they are using their wealth in good ways.
Really enjoyed learning about the history and the lineage. I did not know about Lydia but it fills in the generations nicely. Good to know that she ended up being a functional adult, wife, and mother because with so much privilege this isn't always the case.
I was at the Hearst Winery a few weeks ago and Hearst family members were staying in their beach cottages right on the shore. It was fascinating just to see them from a distance, I mean, what a legacy! Shop owners told us they were in town for a wedding.
I've never heard of her but was familiar about her mother's situation. As I was watching, I was thinking to myself that her eyes looked very similar to Patty's before it was revealed that Patty was her mother.
You can’t become anything in your own right while using your last name. Anjali Disney has said when you’re fork rich it’s easy to make money, she hasn’t worked or made her own money ever.
Amazing how many women from famous or wealthy families turn into models/actresses! Their names certainly get them opportunities ‘average’ women have no hope in hell of obtaining. A few will deserve the fame they then earn and turn into successful business women. However they only got that first break because of who their parents are, and the money backing them. So “self-made” or “earned on their own merit” are not terms that are applicable.
@@barbarapearce9738 You’ve missed the point I was making - which is that many girls get a break in acting/modelling simply because of who their parents are, and not based on merit. I was not talking about women who are unknown (or “poor”) and have to fight to prove they even deserve a chance, while famous kids just walk right in.
WEALTHY FAMILIES ARE THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL AND PROBLEMATIC BECAUSE, MONEY BUYS EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE, SO THEY DO WHATEVER THEY WANT WITHOUT THINKING TWICE...!!!
chris hardwick really landed a good one here. even without the money. still a smoking hot redhead nerd enjoyer. that may be better than money on its own. 20 billions pretty nice though to be honest.
COMMENT: Had you heard of Lydia Hearst before - and what are your opinions on her and the broader Hearst family legacy?

How do they not feel extreme guilt ?
Never heard of her. I'm a new fan. Great story. Thank you ❤❤❤
I love this series and how you guys tell the stories. Ps love the 411 on the scandals of the Golden Era Hollywood.
Thanks again ❤🎉😊

Love your podcast, I know her mother's story.
Describing the inclusion of R2D2 as an elevated aspect of an old money wedding is chef's kiss brilliance.
Never in my life did I hear of this lady
How many other heirs are there?
Interesting stuff 😊
Thanks!
Thanks so much Taura, wow! :)
"Soirees that lasted for days."

We have a video coming out on her soon!
A family to be forgotten.

Sounds like sour grapes. There's a massive amount of actresses and models that were from poor families, same with pop stars.

Patty married her body guard.
