As a Palestinian I knew about his story and my parents told me about him. It breaks my heart every time. I have no illusions about the crimes committed by the various governments of my country. In the 70s, as a teenager, I used to visit a ruined ancient monument and an old guy ,who was employed as a groundsman for the site, asked me why I liked coming to the place and I said that it was our heritage. He said that it wasn't and that our heritage was all the blood spilled by us around the world. It changed the way I looked at our history.

Ditto. The history teacher had a certain predictable spin on everything. He was unable highlight important connections. It was a boring, meaningless exercise focusing on memorizing exact dates. Great video, very informative, but this is hardly news. Maybe it is to younger generations, however this information has been public for decades, people just fail to dig beyond the surface. In any case, this same model has been repeated by the same perpetrator throughout the world. Especially in Latin America. In schools kids are told about say the 1953 coup against Iranian legitimate president? Kids are not allow to say 1952 or 1954? As a grown up history is CIA used our tax money to make coup back in the 50s? The date is not as important as the context of the evil coup.
Ditto. The history teacher had a certain predictable spin on everything. He was unable highlight important connections. It was a boring, meaningless exercise focusing on memorizing exact dates. I deliberately focussed on the NON-STUDY of history, loathed the subject & immersed myself in sciences & math.

They had their own constitution and the people were content. When the Shah was out in and the people protested, they were shot in the streets. From what I’ve studied, the charges against the PM that he was convicted of was “colluding with Russia.” Same playbook has been used for decades and is still being used today. Records were classified for 60 years, finally released in 2013 but few Americans know the true stories of the US interference in not just Iran’s gov but in many other countries too, including killing their leaders to overthrow governments for control of their resources. Watch Stephen Kinzer’s Overthrow pt 1 and pt 2 here on YT. Real education in history is key to understanding what is happening today. Thank you for this video, this history must be told.

you must consider how the US never disarmed after World War 2. That's essentially what the Cold War is. They never pushed the power button to turn the War Machine off, so to speak. FDR died at a very inoppourtune time and the Military Industrial Complex took over. What does that mean in practical terms? 1. The US population is still expected to participate in an eternal war effort, like Rosie the Rivoter, buy war bonds, etc. Nobody tells the population that, so they never do. (which is where the debt also comes rom) 2. So you have a country at war, without telling anyone, so they're doing war stuff, plundering resources like oil, gathering intelligence, making strategic moves, again without the context of actually declaring war or telling anyone. Get russia, labor movements, and the manhattan project in there, and yeah. You get this.
