One day I had the idea to build a land sailors.
And I thought to myself that's been building easy.
The challenge was to use simple materials.
What I have been able: to build a simple and cheap construction.
This land sailors can quickly dismantled and transported in a small car.
What I did not succeed: The design was too heavy (weight 28kg).
And the speed was very small.
    What are the causes?
Weight? Sailing? Wheels? Weather? not a straight road?
If you know the answers please post a comment.
    Thank you for watching.

I realize this is an old video, but I agree with the others. Wind coming around buildings is not clean. It does look like you picked up speed pretty well at one or two points... just not consistent. Did you ever get it out in a larger area and get better speed? You could use a field if the ground is not wet/spongy.
I have been looking for ideas to build one out of wood also. most of the blokarts are metal, and very expensive ones are made of carbon fibre composite. One place to look for ideas is in ice boats designs. They are usually made of wood using boat building methods. I still have not decided on a design, but my son is itching to build something with wheels.

Your project is very inspiring. Thank you for sharing the video! It's exactly what I have been planning in my mind and want to build. Did you make a second version or evolve the design?

Weight is not the issue. Open area, bigger sail, & stronger wind should make your landsailor zip around. The one I bought from its builder weighs 77 lbs, almost 35 kg. It zips around just fine. Here is the link for a video of it with the builder riding it in an open parking lot in wind he described as about 10 mph. ruclips.net/video/k7MSAcmGV60/видео.html

You need a bigger space clear of buildings.

Thanks for the tip. Yes the wind is very swirled.
I thought wide beaches with hard sand are better ... 250 miles from me.

in Gedanken schon, aber das Teil selbst habe demontiert. Mit etwas besseren Materialien könnte ich mir ein UPDATE vorstellen.

You have many problems, The wind direction is one, Your sail is too flexible, it doesn't stay where you put it.. Your sailing techniques are questionable.. and more ! Back to the drawing board.

@@diyforge, Let's face it.. Building it , is more than half the fun.. Sometimes it's the whole fun. ! I'm building a sail cart now, mainly cuz I felt like welding something.. :)
