Yeah timbre plays a huge effect, imo 50 shades’ vowels were a bit wide but I don’t know music that well. Absolutely props to her for coming up with it though
I prefer the 50shades one because of the way the way it mixes with the other one it feels like the dissonance is actually taking over the original and less underlying, the reason why 50shades in my opinion is better is because neither one is overlaying the other. Instead they are both fighting for dominant track which works really well once you reach the "atom bomb" part. But mostly I think it's just that the other one is using a different and lower more sensual voice for more of an effect that just doesn't work with the harmonies she was using. But that's just my thoughts on it.
2:00 Makes me feel something barely any songs have made me feel. I love it, it is truly an incredible dissonance. It's hard to put it into words, but it just makes me feel something so strongly that makes me want to yell, not of anger, but in awe. Beautiful.
Same honestly, it gives me the same feeling as many songs from bands like Xiu xiu, it's dissonant and "wrong" in such a way that it's cathartic in a sense
That girl at 2:00 makes me start crying immediately. That kind of beauty is so far out, it's too much. It's understandable people would reject it, but I hope those who have will give it a second look.
I heard the girl got a lot of hate for her harmony on tiktok, but i like many others im noticing on youtube, think she sounds great. I hope shes able to see all the praise. Fuck them haters.
Only thing I could really say to critique most of these people: their harmonies are good, but it feels like they're trying to overpower the melody. Melodies should be in the forefront, not the harmony. That's why it's a harmony. It's meant to embelish or fill out the melody to make it more powerful feeling. Like I said, the harmonies are good, that's just something I noticed about most of these
Seeing so many creative harmonies and styles of singing brings me so much joy. If variety is the spice of life, then this is the 5-course gourmet meal. What a banger video.

it’s the dissonance. also, she was over-pronouncing the words “lie with”. you don’t really pronounce the words when you sing. she just needs to blend a little and be softer on the vowels.
0:40 is my favorite. she made it sound so sweet
The dissonance is good! i was offput at the "lie with" part, but after it worked very well.
yep, as 7:58 showed it's just a matter of blending and matching timbres
Bruhhh the glasses chick dissonance version gave me an outer body experience, I've fallen completely in love with it. Others were nice too 👍
The rap verse and the high note immediately after 💕
Just because something is dissonant, doesn't mean its bad.
I really like the ones who tried to weave in some complex harmony, rather than just turning it into a self absorbed belting battle
Tbh I don’t even get why the 1:59 girl got so much hate for what she made like it’s satisfying and it slaps when it comes together at the end 😐
The first and second duets will always be my favorites imo
I love the dissonance of the perfect fifth harmony from 50shadesOfSwag
3:19 gave me chills omg
it dropped like bomb
Fr
2:00 sounds great. It’s the vowel shape that’s taking away from it. The “ah” vs the “oh” or even “eh” shape that the video after the original sings. Same melody better vowels. Well I wouldn’t even say better, just more near what the original singers vowel shape is so it hehe locks better.
so many good harmonies though, got chills for so many of them
2:00 I don't know why people hate crunchy chords. Maybe it's just my synesthesia, but it tickles my brain in the perfect kinda way. Crunchy chords > traditionally "pretty" chords
0:20 was one of my favourites she made the highnotes sound so effortless
Is nobody going to talk about at 4:20 that girls FALSETTO???? MY GOD IT WAS BEAUTIFUL
People who bullied that girl have as much character as vanilla ice cream
That's an insult to vanilla ice cream.
@@TommyElijahCabelloReal true but it's the basic default flavor, what she did was like adding spice, plus she's not conventionally attractive so people thought it was appropriate to bully her for some reason..
5:00 the one show off friend who always has to proof they sing better than everyone else
But fails by losing intonation for screaming too loud
@@mistermxyzptlk371 RIGHT LMFAOOO
HOW IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT 9:20 HOLY ITS SO ETHEREAL
each dissonance is giving me an eargasm they’re all way too amazing 😭
Everyone talking bout the girl but 3:40 be slept on. He crescendos with the main part quite nicely and matched the style and intensity.
More underated male parts (order of appearance):
6:20
7:38
8:18
11:14
11:33 (highest energy level)
15:29
16:47
18:06
Women mentions:
14:49
15:10
15:48
16:07
how did all of these give me goosebumps
These harmonies punched me in the gut over and over in the most beautiful way possible.
The bullied one is my favorite, and one of the only ones to introduce true tension and release.
THAT SECOND ONE IS LEGENDARY :O
1:00 also has that TASTY dissonance. Fucking nice version. 2:00 obviously legendary
I only came for the 50 shades of swag because it's awesome. Gives me chills.
I really love that little resolution at 2:52
I Absolutely loved the dissonance that the girl used 1:59
50shades was incredible an we all know this now but holy wow 2:24 is insane. same harmony as 50shades but her timbre is perfect for this instance
What a banger video.
saving these two because YES
1:59
18:45
16:46 bro dropping the hardest wedding vow bars
3:19 i don't like rap, but she goes into singing mode, it's next-level... blew me away
Let's just stay with 1:38 and forget all of this ever happened
Homegirl's harmony @2:00 was just too complex for the average listener. THAT'S why it was hated on.😂
The dude at 1:00 killed it too when he sang atom bomb thats exactly the sound what I had in mind 🤌🏻
Honestly if someone them had better audio quality and the right equipment, it would mesh a lot better and would sound even more awesome. 😊 But seriously there were a couple that already blew me away.
Edit: Also loving the rap additions.
2:01 is SO good
every one is so talented!! (Also carolesdaughter was so right about 50shadesofswag's harmony!!)
At 6:19 someone whispers "Stop it" really loudly and angrily and I'm listening at 4:30 AM and trying to quietly sing along without waking up my family and it almost gave me a heart attack
Everyone was absolutely STUNNING but the girl at 4:20 was the only one who gave me goosebumps
@Jonathan You disagree with what? The fact that she gave OP goosebumps? Lol it’s her opinion
@@isadora5826 thanks though
@Jonathan you can comment UR opinion as a comment and don’t need to answer MY comment so, I think that is a bit disresepctful but do ur thing
@Jonathan honestly I didn’t even read ur comment because that what u are trying is childish😂I am a professional singer and I think , no sorry, I know that she has good vocals and I also know that I like it if u disagree write ur own comment. Thank u
@Jonathan And the word "it's". And the word "you".
The harmony was suprisingly pleasent on "that I lie" and "-tom bomb"
Shit gets real at 3:20 then just keeps getting more wild
Loved this from beginning to end. Brilliant.
