Lipstick joke FUNNY AF... Only just discovered you/your channel this morning after seeing an older Digitizer video... slightly in love with you! Catsuit looked pretty bloody good to me.
Octy's videos are getting higher and higher in quality. Great stuff. Keep it up. PS. You look great in that cat suit. They should do a Knightmare game for today's VR.
Thanks for keeping all the technical bits in the video. Usually reviews of these kinds of things tend to overlook all the hardware inside, or just go with very generic and short explanations.
I love retro tech, and I love seeing RUclipsrs rediscover and cover more 90's VR stuff like this, _especially_ since they're becoming more and more rare and will only become more difficult to work with in the future. You're not the only one who thinks losing these things is heart-breaking -- I always wanted to play these as a kid. Saw a bit on a TV show back in the 90's where they played Battlezone at a "Cyber Cafe" and lost my little mind... and of course, I never actually saw one of those entertainment centers before their moment had passed :( Anyway, thanks to you and Nostalgia Nerd for going through the huge headache it took to even capture this game footage! And just, like, thanks in general for putting out so many great vids this year - we all know you have had some rough patches (to say the least) but you really are just incredibly fun to watch. I'm glad I discovered your channel this year! Really, _really_ hoping that your 2020 is going to be excellent and your RUclipsr experience goes smoother than it did in 2019 :D
16:10 ahhhh memories. I won a competition back in 1992 at Guildford Spectrum playing this game, and it was unreal to fly a plane in VR back in the day. Great days.
Glad you referenced, albeit briefly the health scares around these machines. Supposedly playing them would turn you in to a murderous psychopath who couldn’t tell the difference between the real world and a filled vector, textureless blocky game. 😄
Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaahh... see, shit like that is why Flat Earth nonsense somehow survived into the 21st century. It looks reasonable and sane by comparison. o _o
I snagged a set of 2000SU machines and have been buying up all the spare parts I can off forums. Currently have 3 and a half headsets, a full set of NOS boards, extra controllers and some games. I cleaned up the machines, but don't have them working. One of these days... It's incredibly hard to find help on them.
You are back. Stronger and better since last. And I even think your humour have been upgraded. You can do well here in Denmark, if you went on a pub crawl here.
I remember in the 90's convincing my parents to drive 68 miles(1 hour and a half) to "Santa Claus Land" because they had a Virtuality machine, then after Queueing up for maybe another hour, telling my dad to do it because I was too scared at that point. My brother and sisters were probably off with my mum looking at the other attractions.
4:34 A case of fake news if i ever heard any.. grrrr... Happy New Year you bitmap bombshell! Edit 14.35... Ahem... well.. My new started with that line? Seriously? Flippin' awesome year so far! 👍👍👍
24:37 There was this movie Staring Sinbad called "First Kid". There is a small scene in the movie where the "First Kid" is playing one of these games. I am happy to see I finally know the name of it. I will say, with our new VR technology, I I think it's time to try to port these games over (If it can be done). Probably the only way the regular Joe could play them now a days.
I vividly remember playing VTOL in an arcade in Leicester in the '90s. I loved it. It was a sit-down cabinet, I don't remember the modesty screen. I had to wait about 20 years to get a home version (Rift).. Would love to have a go at the old Virtuality cabinet again, but I worry that it'll ruin my rose tinted memory with a bucket of cold physical reality.
Awesome vid. I too got banned from a local arcade for wearing revealing clothing ... who says edible undies aren't perfectly acceptable day-wear on an extremely humid day?!?!
Love it! Funny, informative and nostalgic. I only ever got to play Virtuality once in the Trocadero in London. Played that Dactyl game and it blew my mind. Thanks for remind me.
VTOL stands for Vertical Takeoff and Landing. Like a Harrier jump-jet as seen in the movie True Lies. Was three an aircraft in that game that reflected the title? Maybe a boss fight or something?
These 1st VR machines were in our local Dave & Busters in Solihull, UK. Basically an overgrown expensive arcade with huge pool tables & happy hour cocktails.
Love you liked my humble contribution to the VR scene :) I have newly converted Polygon Nightmare to work with Vive and it will be out for download as soon as possible. love to all retro VR lovers who remember the magic past ;) Best regards / Dev . Fredrik Enmark. Old school VR™
Huh, RUclips Suggested this to me and I found it quite enjoyable even though Ive seen similar content about said devices. Great job, Ive subscribed. Thanks for your hard work!
Played missile command back in the day....was awesome. Now I own a rift. All my vr dreams have come true. I've got dactyl terror as a rift game and it's still awesome.
Thanks so much for making this video! My childhood arcade (Sportime USA) briefly had one of these earlier units. They were gone within months and I only had the chance to play once. I've made a few futile attempts to remember what the single game they offered was over the years. I vaguely remembered being in a cityscape with a hang glider. Now I know it was Hero, mystery solved. Looking back it wasn't all that impressive. I remember being disappointed and kind of confused. At least now I know there wasn't any real objective I was missing. A game with actual multiplayer interaction, guns, flying pterodactyls, etc. probably would've been even more mind blowing to ten year old me.
An earlier video of yours encouraged us to do a round +5 hour trip to Cambridge, so 280 miles there and back in a day. So, Leicester be worried! You are so talented and funny - love your videos ... my kids (and me) love your videos!
Thanks for making this video. I love VR since the 90s. Movies like Johnny Mnenomic, the Lawnmower Man and the Matrix got me inspired to get a VR headset. I had to wait until 2019. I now have the Oculus Quest. No wires VR , play anywhere. Nice to see how much things have evolved since the 90s.
I checked out one of the standup virtuality cabinets in a retro game museum in berlin. The game was Zone Hunter. Thats amazing technology for the time. They need to preserve all the games and bring out a collection for the PS4 or something. Cool Video. Keep up the good work! :3
Hey Octy. Loved the video. I enjoy seeing the nitty gritty of making things work especially for recording XD It was interesting to see how it was sort of a case of right people, wrong time for the system development. PS: I think you looked good in the cat suit
The real world is love and sadly, most people are living from their ego instead of their heart because they forgot they ARE love (we all are, duh!) So most are still in “virtual” reality already. Let’s all get back to the heart please. Kids think we’re insane and they’re right! (from someone who had to go through a lot of pain to remember this). Anyway, thanks for the video sister! 🐶
I worked on those machine back in the day when I was very young. They were a NIGHTMARE to keep working!!!
I'm so glad you got past all that bussiness and have friends that support you! Octav1us in a catsuit is also a major bonus. ;)
But I will look at you strangely when you refresh your lipstick...
Maybe Husky Satan should have a red catsuit...
That cat suit. God-damn! Looking good lady.
Horny.
"Nobody wants to see that..." Bollocks.
@BrackynMor Or not sleep at all. For a week. Every month. Every year. Happily ever after.
My thoughts exactly. Guaranteed plenty would love to see that
Yea super hot and dorky my favorite
Lipstick joke FUNNY AF...

Catsuit looked pretty bloody good to me.
Decided to do a 5 year Anniversary channel marathon so here is my HI to
try and make the algorithm be nice. Thank you.
Catsuits, VR and lipstick gags - what more could you want?
Octy's videos are getting higher and higher in quality. Great stuff. Keep it up.
PS. You look great in that cat suit.
They should do a Knightmare game for today's VR.
I demand footage of the Nostalgia Nerd in a catsuit for full equality!

"Nobody wants to see that!"
Me quietly: "....I do..."
Same
Agree!
I think a lot of us do!
I had to prescribe myself a cold shower...
Why wouldn't you??
Octy in the catsuit looked wayyyyyy hotter than the model sort for that ad. You go girl!
No one wants to see you out of a catsuit?? Ohhhhhhh yes they DO!!!!!! 😂😂😂
Thanks for keeping all the technical bits in the video. Usually reviews of these kinds of things tend to overlook all the hardware inside, or just go with very generic and short explanations.
You look AMAZING in the Catsuit!!!

Hey this vid earned you a sub from California. Love it. Your Dominatrix suit had nothing to do with it... swear
Glad your back and looking amazing as ever. Great history of games as always
Nice new look to the videos. Like everyone else the lipstick joke threw me but it did also make me do an awkward half cough half laugh.
It looks reasonable and sane by comparison. o _o
MrMortull LOL! 😄
Lawnmower Man
Love you so dang much. Great video and your lipstick joke was the best.
I played these at the Trocadero in London years ago.....we were amazed at the graphics back then.....lol
Robert Marsh I also played two the machines there , I thought it was amazing back then
Same here, I was blown away back then!
" I should probably stop putting lipstick on my vagina"
Genuinely laughed out loud there Octy, more filthy humour please
Made us lol too that one 🤣
That line mDe my wife look up from her phone and said "
What the hell are you watching"
Great to see the videos coming out once again. RUclips would be a sadder place without some Octav1us goodness!
I don’t think I could trust anyone that isn’t at least a little in love with Violet Berlin. She was the best

Octy's back! Here's hoping 2020 is a much better year for you and LESS drama.
I don't think I'll look at my autographed Violet Berlin photo the same again.

Your channel deserves more viewers , very underrated , thank's for your content , very appreciated !
Return to base immediatley. With or without cat suit.
I played one which was robot gladiators or something like that at a place called Santa Claus Land. Amazing
I remember in the 90's convincing my parents to drive 68 miles(1 hour and a half) to "Santa Claus Land" because they had a Virtuality machine, then after Queueing up for maybe another hour, telling my dad to do it because I was too scared at that point. Glad to have you back in full form with the lipstick joke it made me chortle, your the best

Bravo, this was a fantastic video. I've always been a huge fan of this early VR and just anything with a low poly count really.
4:06 Perfect shape and size, no need to put that skit in.
I do think the editing on it is a bit rough though
Yup, she has a great figure. And all the rights to be in a catsuit haha
@@chrisfratz Yeah, she disappears for a few frames, and the word "several" is almost completely cut!
Shall add my voice to the thirsty corner over here. Much approval for the catsuit.

Quality rebranding, totally bonkers topic, lots of fun. You're on a roll.
I remember these being £5 a go and never having a go for that reason. Good video :)
Holy shit Octy that fucking lipstick joke nearly killed me
Awesome vid. I too got banned from a local arcade for wearing revealing clothing ... who says edible undies aren't perfectly acceptable day-wear on an extremely humid day?!?!
Same, but was told it was a bank and not an arcade, and that a 40 year old man, shouldn't be wearing underoos.
I tried that once, but my edible underwear kept dissolving without even being near anybody else's mouth or digestion system.
Good to see u back 👍🏻.
Much better new intro :)
Love the new icon you have.
yay! ive been waiting for this video! and maybe catsuit every 3rd video? meow!
I spat my properly made brew and laughed for 5mins at the lipstick, great video :-)
Love it! Funny, informative and nostalgic. I only ever got to play Virtuality once in the Trocadero in London. Played that Dactyl game and it blew my mind. Thanks for remind me.
cheeky humor, wonderful technology and emphatic presentation.
i salute you lady Oktavius, you have made another entertaining video.
I remember playing a stand up unit at Butlins in Skegness. Must have been 92/93. Sadly I don’t remember much about the game
So glad I've discovered you 🤣 ...subscribed and currently binge watching. You're hilarious 😋

Love these machines. The RCM in general is fantastic and Simon is more than happy to show these off at length
The lipstick joke cracked me up more then it should! Great video!
Glorious work as always. That fantasy one looks like great fun, like a VR version of Knightmare!
Indeed. Knightmare actually used Amiga technology.
Another top quality video, and you look great in a catsuit.
"Virtual Reality! A way of going to another reality... that doesn't involve drugs"
I think that was actually how they sold it in the 90s.

They had some of those stand up machines in the sega park in Bournemouth.....it was amazing!
At least you were mucking around like a group of utter yoghurts and not like absolute desks.
Welcome back! :)
You look fab in the cat suit luv. 🙌🏻
What, no mention of Cyber zone. You know that weird 3d game show with Craig Charles back in the early 90's.
Someone else covered it I think. Kim Justice maybe?
Fantastic video, Octav1us!

God I love that mid-90s untextured polygons look. It takes me right back.
This was competing against DOOM3D, Descent and Quake. its much more mid 80s.
