    Guys do not do this in the microwave irepeat, it is the most dangerous thing ever do not, only melt sugar over a stove top. If you ask why. Sugar has a boiling point higher than water so

      I did it! It worked perfectly well, and there was no melting sugar over the stovetop. The mixture will not rise; it will only start to brown and thicken. So, no problem, perfect recipe.

      Worked for me :) there are so many dangerous things we do, drive a car, hike, all sorts of things. Most of the time it’s safe but the other times it’s not. Yet we still do it. Your life will be very boring if you don’t do something because of what might happen.

      @snicole24 this is different, as I said there is a high chance it won't work and the sugar will spill out because microwavable containers aren't made to withstand sugar and this is different from hiking because there is a safer alternative and a higher change of danger

    DON‘T DO IT IN THE MICROWAVE!!!
    IT‘S DANGEROUS!!
    There have already been so many injuries doing it. Sometimes the glass dish breaks, sometimes the plastic container melts. It gets really really hot and this unevenly. Also melted sugar sticks to skin and makes the burns so much worse because it isn’t easy removable upon skin contact.
    Please don’t do it that way 🤍

      -Use a Pyrex glass dish so it can withstand the extreme temperature
      -no matter the method, hot sugar is dangerous and should be used with caution. But this danger is not further increased by using a microwave. It’s dangerous regardless and it’s always good to warn people (as you have) about hot sugar. However it doesn’t mean people shouldn’t attempt the recipe provided they use the correct type of glass.

      ​​@@Seal_pupEven pyrex can break since melted sugar syrup is incredibly hot, I believe there is even a problem that two companies use the name 'pyrex', one with worse quality material which is more likely to break. Making it in a pan on a stove/induction is much safer and not that much more difficult/slower.

      @@Andthereitiss ofc there’s that whole thing. I would do my research as a consumer and get actual Pyrex/borocilicate glass. So just a bit of googling shows me that Pyrex will only break at 425°F (or thermal shock from going to extremely hot to extremely cold) and sugar can only reach 360°F which means that sugar cannot break borocilicate glass. But yeah that whole problem (in America I believe?) where lowercase Pyrex isn’t real borosilicate glass is BS and I’m sure caused many sad moments where it breaks in the oven.

    Saying it for people who don’t read replies, This is not dangerous if you do it right. There definitely should be more information in the video about doing this safely though..
    You need to use a good glass that can withstand hot temp like a Pyrex glass which is used in the oven. Sugar overall is dangerous when melted no matter the method so just be careful when doing this. If you don’t use the right glass or handle the sugar without care obviously you can get hurt
