As I’m a philosopher… studies philosophy the question for me like “You cannot step twice in the same river” is basically a quote of Heraclitus (a ancient philosopher). You can approach from that side when he was talk about the time “every seconds things/being change” being changeable means nothing is permanent. Also from Indian philosopher perspective or read history there is Buddhist philosophy where Buddha talk about Momentriness (Kshanikvad) “every time things will change, nothing is permanent like one luminated light luminate the another one, continuously followed” so either you interpret from Western philosopher side or Indian Buddhist side Both talk about the same things. Basically this essay talk about the time and how being change with time i.e. human perspectives, approach, journey…. Everything different at different point of time nothing going similarly this is the real truth of universe that “LIFE IS MOMENTRINESS” every moment is the life changing like time never followed their predecessors seconds.
You have to think in broad way rather than just thinking philosophically. Divyakirti sir explain very well how you should tackle philosophical essay (last year analysis)

Sir,for just because you have option does not mean any of them has to be correct essay,
I started with
At independence india have various options of secularism like western model of religious neutrality, theocracy type,special previliges to minority religions etc....but despite these options indian has chosen a new model based on SARVA DHARMA sambhava....

Then examples where we had gone out of way to explore new choices in various spheres
Like in political sphere we have parliament sovereignty and judicial supremacy as predominant models but we choose mix of them
In economy,we have socialism capitalism. But we have gone another way
In case of nuclear weapons ,we have complete disarmament or to be on par with neighbouring....but we chose to have minimum credible deterrence....and I quote example of development and environment and chose diff path through adoption of EIA etc....doha develop agenda at WTO etc....
Later,I mentioned one example about how we ar forced to go with existing options
Like growing relations with us made us to divert from iran and voted against it etc
And mentioned the factors limiting out choices like our power,pros and cons of choices,suitability,distribution of power in the society etc....and measure needed to ensure our freedom to choose and conclusion....

No,u are not wrong..... adaptation part is just expansion of ur second point i.e utilise opportunity fully............and bcz u can not have first experience twice you have to be ready for change in the circumstances and also with ur strategy to tackle the situation/problem that is being adaptive. ......for eg Prithviraj expected same river stream and lost
