    Good demo. No time wasting with talk for 5 mins before demo - unlike some other peoples videos.

    The variation of dumbbells is extremely useful for a small person like me ruclips.net/user/postUgkxP26Tir6n60vUkdtn4mbwhRO8cwuJQNy2 But the dumbbell size being large it's hard to do certain exercises like deadlift ( I have to have my hands and legs a bit wider to accommodate the size of the DB )Otherwise happy with the purchase. No excuse not to lift weight when it's snowing outside.

    Would be helpful to get your cameraman to stand back and show your knees and feet and entire body during the movement so the uninitiated can get a better sense of the movement. Concise and to the point. That tiny change in filming could make a big difference in peoples understanding of the movement.

    Usually, you'll be able to clean more than you can press. So chances are you gotta do the push press if you're belting 8 reps or less. It's all good, you still get the work on the tris/shoulder. The golden rule is mix it up. Break off the normal barbell clean and throw in a few hammer grip dumbbell cleans as shown here. Change it up and you won't plateau

    I incorporate a front squat/deadlift into each repetition, just barely touching the dumbbells to the floor and immediately back up.

    The push press is easier and also works your legs whereas the shoulder press is harder but works your shoulders harder

    What muscle group does throwing the weights on the floor target?

    Could a kettlebell like continuous swing clean and jerk (long cycle) be performed fruitfully and safely with dumbbells?

    I dont see the difference between push press and push jerk?

    • @aethylwulfeiii6502
      @aethylwulfeiii6502 9 месяцев назад

      The push jerk uses power transfer from the legs to achieve more weight overhead. It’s more let power driven, and can even go as deep as full depth front squat.

      Yes but likely your weight used will be limited by the other motions, ie the inability to lift the same weight above your head, but it all depends on what physique you are going for.

    How can it be a "hang power clean" when he's only doing a hang clean? Lol

    • @TheGCode
      @TheGCode 7 лет назад +7

      Matthew Francis "power" just means not going below parallel in the squat portion of the exercise so these are definitely hang power cleans

    • @jaylawson01
      @jaylawson01 6 лет назад +2

      PWR = No squat below parallel -- Full = Squat -- Some might argue that Hang Clean implies a full squat. Whatever the case, power always means no squat below parallel.
