I own a 2023 Palisade Calligraphy and a 2006 Honda Pilot with roughly 240k miles. I’m a loyal Honda owner, and was tempted to trade in my new Palisade once more of the Elite trim Pilots started delivering. However, there are several features that I think will keep me in the Hyundai for now: excellent highway drive assist technology, ergo massaging driver’s seat, ventilated 2nd row seats, Napa leather, 10yr/100k mile warranty. I was also able to get mine out the door below MSRP, which is unlikely on the Pilot for the time being. I love the Pilot, but the Palisade has impressed me and I’m willing to give Hyundai a shot for a little while.

Just got my 2023 EXL Pilot about a month ago. I was shopping around the likes of the Toyota Sienna XLE, Mazda CX90, Honda Odyssey, Kia Telluride, Hyundai Pallisade and the Honda Pilot. My family has had Kia and Hyundai with mix reviews in regards to dependability and price of annual maintenence. Although I did like the amenities of both the Kia and Hyundai, it wasnt enough to sell me on them. The Mazda lately has proven itself in dependability and such, but the price point and markup was way out of range, since they are going down the wanting to be a luxury brand now. So, it was coming down to the Honda and Toyota family. I have always had full faith in Honda, and Toyota to a point. However, what really got me to go with Honda, was the fact that Toyota had no vehicles on lot to testdrive except pre-owned 2020 or 2019 which is not what I was looking for. They also had a markup of anywhere from 5k to 7k, plus wanting a reservation downpayment of 2k before you even got to see or drive the vehicle, which was non refundable if you decided not to buy the vehicle. Lastly, they only offered 4cylinder turbos with CVT transmissions, as well as hybrid. I didnt mind the hybrid aspect, as who wouldnt want better gas mileage. But at what cost, I didnt want to pushing all the power and torque with the turbo through a 4cylinder, and I have near zero faith in all cvt transmissions. Oh, and the Sienna had comparable storage size of the Honda Pilot. My final decision was based on all that above, as well as Honda having the vehicle I wanted on lot, only having a markup of 1.5k, naturally aspirated V6 engine with a 10spd auto transmission and not a cvt. Ultimately went with Pilot rather than the Odyssey due to overall needs, and Odyssey already being on last year of version, so not many updates on technology side. Love my Honda Pilot!

For someone spending 50k plus dollars, pallisade sure looks more luxurious and value for your money. Toyota and Honda have been arrogant& didn’t bring enough quality interiors and/or features coz they know ppl would anyways buy their cars. With 10 years power train warranty Hyundai should be fine. And they are not like Landrovers or Jeeps who break down easily. I owned different Hyundai cars since 2002 and never had a problem with engine/transmission etc.

I test drove all three recently, and as a second gen Pilot owner, I fully expected to wind up in a new Pilot Elite. After driving it, however, I was a little underwhelmed. The car doesn’t feel especially nice for something that costs $52k and the absurdly small, tacked-on infotainment screen is ridiculous for a new ‘23 model. It’s also a very long car and just felt a little too big for me. I also happen to hate push-button shifters (personal preference), so that was another deterrent. The Palisade is very nice, drives extremely well and is packed with features, but the styling is just not for me. The front end looks like a transformer caught in mid-transformation, and the interior feels like several different people were involved but didn’t talk to each other. The Telluride hit the sweet spot. The updated for ‘23 styling fixed everything I disliked about the car previously: cheap-looking wheels on the SX trim, silly Amber DRLs, and the tacked-on infotainment screen. The suede headliner, integrated dual 12.3” screens, soft-touch surfaces, refined ride, and loads of tech make the car feel even more expensive than it is. The Honda simply can’t touch all the features the Koreans offer for the same money. I bought the Kia.

Transmission shifts are not crisp and sometimes overrun when releasing throttle. Also see Hyundai with some ares where they are cutting corners, underbody heat shield, plastic where you should have metal, etc. I worry about quality of Hyundai and dealer said quality is good as long as you maintain the car. My wife has a 2023 Telluride SX Prestige. It is not wireless. You can do wireless audio streaming but not Carplay or Auto. Honestly, with the refresh, I think they all get the 12.3 center screen now so none of them with do it. The pre-facelift the smaller screen allowed. They did get the OTA updates with the refresh though so once Hyundai/Kia figure out the licensing, they should be able to do a software update.

Man when all people can say is that 1 is better because it “will last longer” you know the other is better in almost every way.
Y’all are crazy and just need to let it go. The palisade is better/nicer. It’s ok Honda hasn’t done anything for years now and selling you the same car they sold about 7 years ago. Y’all also need to stop saying it’s better because it will last forever when you trade you’re car every 2 to 3 years. It’s just stupid. The Honda is nice but not better then the palisade. Top trim to top trim the only thing better is the off road stuff I guess but you are not buying these for that anyway. Palisade interior nicer and better. Exterior nicer. Adaptive cruise control way better. Driving comfort better. Infotainment better. Sound system better. Camera better. Features better. Cooled and warm seats on first and second row and heated 3rd row. Blind spot monitor better and camera with turn signals on cluster on palisade. Palisade has nice ambient lighting. Only thing really I would take on Honda better is the pano roof because is one peace.

Honda could’ve done a much better job with the new pilot. I’m sure the drivetrain is better than Hyundai’s as It’s a newer car, but damn Honda uses a lot of cheap looking plastic considering how much they’re asking for this car. Also For a new infotainment system it’s still too small. Give me the palisade or Telluride any day of the week! The Honda might be slightly more reliable, but given Hyundai and Kia’s five-year 60,000 bumper-to-bumper warranty and 100,000 mile powertrain warranty that’s not really an issue until years later down the line and you probably won’t have the car that long anyway.

The palisade drives and feels much better then the Honda in terms of comfort and luxury. I personally prefer and have the palisade. The pilot isn’t a bad ride and is decently comfortable, but it does get a lot of the small things right that the palisade doesn’t get right, such as sun glass holder, power folding mirrors, various cup holder spots , 3rd row lights etc.
none of those things mattered to me so I chose better comfort and ride
