so nice to see a self proclaimed cautious cyclist. Her cycling journey resonates so much with mine. As much as I admire alleycats speed, her vibe and commentary is top tier.
She's incredibly sweet. This was kinda heartwarming, and really shows a different attitude on the road compared to the other cyclists shown on this channel.
This girl rides very proper. She was super insightful and actually inspires me to want to be more friendly when I'm on my bike. She seems impossible to be mad at and that's a rare quality these days, lol.
Chill video. I liked the vibe of this one--safe, yet inspired. Maybe it's roadie vibes, but I'm roadie so I dig it. I like the comparison of the cities. I started cycling in LA, and now I live in Davis up in NorCal. I understand a lot of the observations she shared about cycling in LA. Can't wait to go back and try more climbing. Hope to make it out to NYC one day too--it's a dream to ride through those streets. I like cyclists that talk. It's easy to get caught up in the self on rides, especially if riding solo happens more than group rides. Not every ride needs to be an attack on the streets, for PR's, or heart rates. I looked at her Strava for this ride, and she did 86.83 miles this day. My guess is that Terry only ended up filming sub 20 miles. If you think about how long it takes to ride 20 miles, then the amount of talking in this video is just another casual conversation on the saddle.
This is my running route when I want to go long around 14 miles. At 10:01 she passes a portopotty on the bridge. I just took a huge steamer in there last week. It’s always open and always has TP.
She's absolutely right in her video game analogy. I cycled across the states last month and finished in New York City, I loved that contrast after fields and canal paths through Ohio and New York state. I welcomed the energy of the city after the calmness of the countryside.
NYC just seems like a cyclist paradise... Everything seems flat and the way to get where you want is always full of attractions and nice thrill. You should come to Brazil, like Minas Gerais, which is full of inclination everywhere, it's generally a very athletic experience and the declines are sick!
Really loved this video! As someone who’s def a little more cautious on my bike, I really enjoyed her style and commentary. I love the other videos with people riding 100 miles per hour (although the occasional endangering of pedestrians does rub me the wrong way), but this one was great.
The juxtaposition with this video and your last one is amazing haha. Two completely different personalities and styles of riding. This one is definitely more me haha - can we get some ColdLine stickers? XD
I've always enjoy the quality of the video, especially the sound (no wind) but it's the first time I'm watching calm and safe that no one's gonna die any moment.
I finally understand from this one video why people say it isn't so bad cycling in NYC - cos we finally saw ONE respectful rider who didn't piss off drivers.
I've been in Austin for over 4 years now (former New Yorker of 7 years) and I completely agree with her saying how it can be more dangerous biking in a place like LA than it is in NYC. Both Austin and LA are built for cars and motorists in these type of cities think they're the center of the universe. They don't think to look for pedestrians and cyclists, they creep up into crosswalks trying to turn right on reds, etc. In New York, pedestrians and cyclists have the power.
Great video! I’m in west LA & I found it very interesting how you explain the difference between riding both places. I learned to ride my motorcycle in the canyons in Malibu. It’s so beautiful. That shot of you riding on the bridge near queens was so cool & looked like it went on forever!!
love this video, since the comany i wanted to worked for closed down i havent found my way back to New York i want to bike there how are you captureing this vid?
Although she is a cautious rider, she is very well spoke and entertaining person. As for someone like myself who lives in Los Angeles and never been to New York, it is very nice to hear the comparison of both cities as a regular bike rider.
Living in a hilly neighborhood helps a lot. If you go to Harlem and Washington Heights, the climbs there are short but quite phenomenal. Gradients consistently reach 4% or more. Riding a geared bike is fun, but don't be afraid to switch it up by riding a fixed or a freewheel (single speed). Run a 46/16 ratio if you're newer to riding. If you want a long gradual climb, try going up St.Nicholas from 125th all the way up to 163rd. It's a very subtle hill but you will feel it.
Really enjoyed her commentary especially on the difference between riding in the city vs more rural roads. If I'm riding city I use flat pedals on my road bike. A lot easier than clipless pedals for light changes.
Glad to see another female rider who enjoys riding in the city, and over all the nyc bridges. I admit, I do enjoy riding through traffic. There are three bridges I have yet to cross, Queens and Kosciusko, an triboro. Those are my riding goals this summer. 😄
Refreshing to see a regular rider who doesn't blaze through intersections in the "cross first, look later" style of Terry's regular riders😃😃🤨🤨. Too much time spent away from New York? One to savour, one to keep!!
In LA it’s all climbs in majority of places … I hit the hills going to Long Beach, Compton , down town is pretty flat, and All the beach cities, especially Manhattan beach, Santa Monica has small hills … oh and San perdro, Wilmington has a few tough hills, Downey/ Lakewood is flat, east Los , pico Rivera and Montebello has a few hills… Pasadena should be cal the city on a hill going to Altadena, that one is difficult …
I liked this. LOve this. Bikes are fucking bikes. The only thing I got in life anymore it feels like. I live in NJ right at the top of the Jersey Shore, suburbia, but I can ride to and on the Atlantic and also take the train to PHilly or NYC.
WOW. Super awesome ride. I am going to plan a city bike riding trip to New York. Would autumn be the best time to ride there. The reason I ask is because you mentioned the hot weather.
Great video! You should talk to Felipe Memoria. He's a Brazilian designer living in NYC. As far as I know, he loves to ride too! It would be an amazing conversation!!!!!!
I don't even know what to say, I was so confused watching/ listening that I had to reassure myself several times that this actually is a Terry B. video. LOL. It's like a coffee ride (I wish BTW you would bring those back and let interesting people talk while sipping a cup on a bike) without being truthfully a coffee ride. Very confusing.
Nice video, crazy to see someone stop at an intersection on this channel
100%, same thought came to me
You said it. Also not riding on the wrong side of a yellow into oncoming traffic.
🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱 most boring video ever. no clue how she yapped her way into being filmed by terry.
Well there was a 10 ton garbage truck coming through 🙂🙃 For real though, very courteous and streetwise decisions.
Gross.

Fully agree:)

I like how talkative she is, she's said a lot of things I felt about riding but I didn't know the words to say it
Looking before crossing intersections? Are those hand brakes? Multiple gears?
Someone hijacked the channel :D
stops at a light but still makes content for Terry - what a nice person.

We could always smell it now that you mention it.

That was great. Just the mellowness that I needed... perfect timing. Great to see a "Roadie's" take on NYC too. Good work Mishiiii and Terry.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@TerryB what bike do you have it looked like a marin model

she looks both ways and slows down when approaching traffic lights. pleasant change.

I think this is the most normie rider Terry has followed (that's not an put down, to be clear!)
great video i like when riders explain city and reasons to ride
I finally understand from this one video why people say it isn't so bad cycling in NYC - cos we finally saw ONE respectful rider who didn't piss off drivers.
Really enjoyed the commentary and the comparison between the two major us cities
First video on this channel that I had to mute. My god. Just layer over some chill music and its a great ride though.
She didn't say much, Terry. You should of tried to get her to open up a bit.
LOL
Mishiii is a good egg, thanks for sharing your love of riding bikes and the city.
Much better to be in a city like NY where one is more afraid of pedestrians than of cars!
She really speaking 19 mins non-stop? Hooolyyyy .....

This Was A Nice Ride, It Was Also Like A Podcast On Wheels, All You Need Was Terry On A Mic
That's coming soon
More of this kind of chill ride please. Not running light is a good habit :)

I live and ride all around Los Angeles and how she describes riding here is so perfect.

What a great stream of consciousness chat, such a nice person!
Although she is a cautious rider, she is very well spoke and entertaining person. As for someone like myself who lives in Los Angeles and never been to New York, it is very nice to hear the comparison of both cities as a regular bike rider.
Mishiiii you rock sister. You exude confidence and positive vibes!
Nice, safe riding. I like seeing someone stopping at lights and wearing a helmet, etc. This is how I like to ride. Great video!
Lol talking an navigation. Oh girl definitely got the talking down. 😂😂😂. Absolutely love it.
I like how she narrates the tour.

Riding clipless in the city is good practice for popping in and out, and doing it without looking down build up skills 😂
@@BrianMcDonald I use Clipless when racing. Flats for city riding. Just more practical. I see newbs struggle at lights with their Rapha kit lol
@@joed7185 just have to struggle through it! However, don't ask me to change the routine from left foot to right foot though haha

That was a lot of fun. intro/outro were banging
I love these narrated rides. I miss riding in NYC
Wow! Come up for air!
Have you tried a 60fps camera already?
isn't that every camera?
Mishiiii is great, love how she says hello to folks riding.
This makes me want to take a trip to NYC for a few days with my bike and just ride around all day exploring.

I love listening to what she has to say.
nice perspective on NYC riding
Really like her take on things. Would love if more rides would give these personal insights 😊
Chill af ride.
My favorite rider so far, nice bike too
Thank you Mishiiii. Thank you Terry. Top as useall. 🙏

great ride video, wish we got to see the 9W ride!
This girl gives cyclists a good name 😛
The rapha open bikes are sick
WOW. Super awesome ride. I am going to plan a city bike riding trip to New York. Would autumn be the best time to ride there. The reason I ask is because you mentioned the hot weather.
She is great!! Wow, super polite!!
She said more things in 18 minutes than I do in a year. She has an incredible personality.
I never have the wind to talk that much while riding. Must be all that L.A. roadie cardio. Love it!
refreshing to see a bright jersey top. Stay visible stay safe. And damn riding in nyc is hardcore.
"Some of us are tryyying to oooorrder" lol
First time I've heard someone else use the videogame analogy, too true
Beautiful lady with a great personality.
I wonder if she talked during the whole century ride?
I like riding my bike in the city, in the grid, not out on the greenways. It's fascinating.
this was a fun ride and relatable
Great video. I loved it 🚴
Love it as always! Ride or die!
You know your a west coaster when you say “the 9w”
Btw-get a rear blinky light!
12:38 this boost omg

I had a headache .she doesn't stop talking
id like to keep listening to them while riding my bike
What?! Not a fixie???
Chik literally never stopped talking....
she describes really good whats it like to ride a bike. great video
Sweet christ, this woman can talk.
Para correr bicicleta y hablar ala misma ves tienes que tener buenos pulmones
@@Hardknockwow
She’s not even pedalling much. She’s just coasting 😂
That was my thought aswell 😳 lol
I turned audio off😊
Yeah bro, that's the point.
Ok I'm intrigued.
Was hoping you'd go across the GWB with her!
No fixed gear no party
The Hiphop in me says she needs to know she rode by the Buildings that Nas and Mobb Deep grew up.
wooooo can’t wait!! ❤❤

why don't you stop at red lights?
Why don’t you have a profile picture?
getting older, that type of riding gets for me more appealing
I love nyc view bicycle ride.
all the alleycat haters should come here to watch this video and chill out!
Did anyone notice the massive low-gear cogs on her cassette? She sure is a climber with gears that low.
Hiking but on a bike is prolly called biking.
I would love to ride with you guys but at the moment no bike the bike I want cost to much 😅
