      @knightclan4 dude, thank you! Holy crap I forgot to message you and say thank you! I meant to after chris gave it to me and forgot that night, sorry about that!
      It is awesome, I can't believe how cool it is. I have it decorating my computer desk right now as I'm working on some new videos.
      Do you sell your work or is it mainly a hobby? If you sell it I'd love to give your business a shoutout. Let me know, you can message me on my Facebook page if you want to, I'll try to check messenger (i keep my notifications off usually because I get lots of spam).

      @knightclan4 This video was filmed at Bob Sikes Bridge, it is the toll bridge that goes from Gulf Breeze out to Pensacola Beach. Good spot for Sheep and drum

    Sheepshead love all crustacean. Fiddler crabs too

    • @ckwoutdoors
      @ckwoutdoors  День назад

      @jonlayton5834 Thats true, but sometimes they prefer one over the other and can be very picky. Most of the time if they won't eat anything crab, they'll eat an oyster. Oysters are their main food source this time of year and they eat way more of those than crabs

    It hurts to watch your line got cut so many times but you stayed cool! And I love the commentary man. Keep it up!

    • @ckwoutdoors
      @ckwoutdoors  21 час назад

      @nothinginhere916 yup, that's just part of the game 🤣 unfortunately not much you can do about it. Size up your line too much and they'll quit biting, size up the rod too much and you won't feel them bite, no way to avoid it! I prefer to be in my yak so I can back them out of the structure but if using oysters thats way to messy to be in my lap in the yak hahaha. Oh well, got 3 fish landed at least!
      Thank you!

    awesome video....what kind of tape do you have around your kayak to protect it from the pilings?

    • @ckwoutdoors
      @ckwoutdoors  2 дня назад

      @rong1473 thanks!
      So right now it actually isn't really doing much, I peeled most of it off, but what I usually do is ill take a cheap garden hose, slit it lengthwise, then open it up and wrap it around the sides of the hull, then tape it down with several layers of Gorilla Tape. Gorilla works amazing and is the stickiest thing on earth lol it stays on for months even in the salt water, it's pretty waterproof. The tape itself will get cut up fast from the oysters, so if you put the hose in there it'll act as a bumper and really protect the hull. Just add tape every now and again as it gets chewed up. I just tape right over the chewed up parts with new tape.

    Have you tried canned oysters/clams from Walmart? I’m afraid my boat would get tore up pulling up to the pilings 😂

    • @ckwoutdoors
      @ckwoutdoors  День назад +1

      @twistedmoto7759 yeah, the oysters definitely tear up your boat. My yak is all scratched up from years of doing it lol.
      Ive tried the raw oysters you can get in a container at Wal Mart in the refrigerated seafood section. They do okay, but not nearly as good in my opinion. I've made them work though. It's just very expensive to do that, they're like 5 to 10 bucks for a pretty small container and youre gonna burn through them really fast since they're so fragile, especially if there are a lot of pinfish around.
      The easiest way to get them in your boat is to pull up to the piling, get all your gear you need on it, then tie off, jump up on the piling and let the boat drift out away from the structure on the downcurrent side secured to the piling by a line. Then you can use a long handle scraper and long handle net, lean over the side of the piling and scrape the oysters into the net to get them.
      That's what most people do so their boat isn't near the structure

    Dang I wanted to see one of those drums, you gotta use heavier line homie!

    • @ckwoutdoors
      @ckwoutdoors  19 часов назад

      @oyabun8538 Youd think so, but the water was extremely clear this day. Going any higher than about 20lb leader will cause the sheep not to bite. Have to just accept you're gonna lose some fish when sheepshead fishing! As cool as the drum are they're just bycatch really. Now if I'm actively targeting drum then I'll run 30 or 40lb leader. But if I'm just wanting sheep 20lb max if I want lots of bites
