One Second Every Day for a Year: 2017 - 2018

- This is something quite different from my usual videos but I hope you will enjoy it! :) As the title suggests, for exactly one year I have recorded one second of video every day and here is the result.
For 365 days this project encouraged me to find a tiny fragment of each day that made it special. The exciting and the mundane - it’s all in there! Recording each second became as routine as brushing my teeth. It has become a much bigger part of my life than just the one second clips you see in this video. It’ll be tough to put the camera down now it has come to its end but I know I’ll continue to look around me and recognise those important moments each day. What more could I ask for from this experience?
Here is a challenge for after you have watched the video. I would recommend you watch the video in full (and try not to blink because you might miss something!) then watch it again and see if you can answer the questions below. If you want to have a go, leave your answers in the comments.

That was very creative Emma. I'm guessing you were in Germany at some point. By far the greatest vid yet since we get to see you whole family. And I have always wondered what you look like. I only see these beautiful hands playing these beautiful pieces. Thanks for posting this. I had a smile on my face the whole time.

Oh Emma I so adore this video! I know it was your project but it was so fun being a part of the whole experience.

Honestly don't know what is more beautiful, the content or the idea behind it! It has definitely inspired me to start doing my own. Just wondering what the soundtrack is cause it really fits the video well!

I sometimes forget and by the time I remember nothing interesting will happen for the rest of the day. Plus I don't have a cat to entertain the viewers! Apart from the cat, how did you keep the theme going?
I would love to see it when it's finished. It's really nice to get an insight into the lives of others in this way. Haha, the cats definitely played their parts in creating entertainment :) It wasn't always easy, I had those days like you did but not every day can have something really exciting or unusual. Once I accepted that, it was much easier to capture those mundane moments too :)
You learned how to live. I could not
Everybody feels like that sometimes. I'm sure you can learn to live too. Maybe you can make your own "one second every day" video and give yourself a reason :)

Broke my arm yesterday in a motorcycle accident. No piano for a couple months it seems! First genuine smile of the day you gifted me, though. Keep it always up, can't wait for the next video. Cheers from Venice! ^^

Well I love them all, but I can’t stop thinking about May 6th😀 because bowling was a great part of my life for many years a long time ago.

Yay! Thank you for being the first to attempt the challenge. I think my question about how many journeys was probably a bit too difficult because there were so many, and it depends if you include bike rides and walking as journeys too. Maybe I will change it to 'how many times can you see the sea?' You were right with Tomb Raider and Sonic, also with Germany and the birthday. Well done! :) I'll leave it to others to guess the other games. We didn't move house on the date you suggested. To give you a clue, the clip you mentioned is when we started packing, and we started packing about a month before we moved.

Beautiful idea. Of course, it's something more meaningful to you and then your loved ones. But even so, it shows part of the emotion and kind of spreads a nice feeling.

Hmm, that's a good question... I just re-watched it and counted 11 (if you count the tiny image that appears on Skype now and again!). How many did you get? I'm really glad you liked this, despite it being personal. I was actually really nervous before uploading it because it is so different from the usual videos and because it took so long to put together. So it means a lot that you could still enjoy it. Yes, it was nice to watch and listen. It shows "emotion" and "feelings", therefore it's nice to watch. Even when I'm not involved in the story in anyway.

Hi hbejinha. Please remember, this video does not represent a whole life.There are moments that occur that are not always captured on camera and they are not all good. Nobody has a perfect life and nobody can get through a year without the bad times too, but that is life :) I hope you will remember this and seek those good moments each day. A flutter of a wing, a growing flower, a smile. Look and you will see :)

Hi Bojan, thanks for taking part! 30th May was in Cornwall at Tintagel Castle (if you would ever like to visit, it is such an amazing place). You were close with 27 times but there are a few more :) You were also close with the moving date, just one day off!
