I've never been the strongest reader but your novel moved me into breaking out of my own ignorance , thank you so much . Love all the way from brooklyn
i finished reading it last night and i felt all the feels. my heart was heavy the entire time now i need everyone to read it so they can feel everything i felt.
I learned about this book from the interview you did last week with Erica (@TheBrokenSpine) and her friend Joel. It sounded like an interesting book so, a couple nights later, I went to Barnes & Noble and picked up a copy. I finished it tonight..... and damn.... it was much more than "interesting." It was outstanding! Insightful! Mesmerizing! Thought-provoking! Infuriating! and Beautiful... all at the same time! One of THE BEST books I've read in years. I'm very much looking forward to the follow-up (from Isaac's point of view)! I'll be sure to stock up on boxes of tissues for the emotional ride I'm sure it'll be! I also picked up copies of "Perfect Peace" and "They Tell Me of a Home." I have no idea which one I'm going to read next since they both sound fantastic. I'm afraid I'll have to resort to "Eeney-Meeney-Miney-Moe" to decide, LOL. Have a great evening! Valerie.
Yo, the fact I'm not a book fan or about anything church based did not stop me from picking up that Jewel you threw out... NEED is the (negitive) end of the magnet that ATTRACTS the (positive) and the GIVE is not acceptable until there is a need to BALANCE the action BETWEEN
I was sooooooooo disappointed in this book I love alllll the other books. Even The Coming gave Africans and slaves a voice I never heard b4. But this one was short letters it was more blank pages than pages with words on them. I'm a huge fan of Daniel Black but this book let me down.
Late to the platform but this is outstanding!!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You are a fantastic soul. Thank you for this gift. Your book is beautiful and healing. I’ll be sharing it with everyone I know. 🙏🏾

Sir, are you related to the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria? That omotosho is my old last name before my dad changed one of his names to his last name
