I have read everything that Daniel Black has put pen to paper to write and publish, and I am proud to call him a friend! On another note, but to speak to one of Dr. Black's points, I can't believe that no one mentioned my alma mater (or did I miss it??). Tuskegee Institute (now University). It was founded because formerly enslaved Lewis Adams petitioned the state of Alabama for a school for his people and a teacher (when he could have asked for something to selfishly only benefit himself). His request was granted, Booker T. Washington was sent to Tuskegee, and the rest is history.
