That was so touching. Amy will be missed by so many but not as much as she will be missed by you and Meg. I hope Meg will get together with George one day. Thank you for letting us be a part of your life with these beautiful amazing lions. We love y'all.💋💓🐾 Rest in Peace beautiful baby girl Amy💓🌹God bless🙏...... I'm so happy you were able to be with her at the end.💓
InsaneTiger07 He is Daddy...he raised them from cubs and was the one that bottle fed them. He has indeed been their dad. No question about that. Meg definitely looks lost and trying to connect with others. Staying on the fence line next to Kevin says it all. She misses her sister very much and may be hoping for her return but it won’t happen. I love you all and want nothing but the best for you. My heart aches for Amy.. It happened quickly and came out of left field. 🦁❤️❤️🥰
" Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains un-awakened." - Anatole France! -* That's an amazing quote too discover . Thank you for sharing that. It's so true and fitting for the past week or so...
Incredibly true statement which sums up beautifully our relationships with our fellow animals, Amy's spirit and soul will NEVER disappear Kevin, God bless you.
@@LionWhispererTV Yes I am crying!!! So emotional and beautiful!! I ave lost pets that were members of our family and it is a heart wrenching experience every time. Something I have learned is that do not let anyone put a limit on the time you need to grieve your loss. You will know when it is enough time. ❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️
I’m a 45 year old man and I broke down crying when he said “ daddy loves you “ how many times I have said that to my cats and dogs. They become your family. My heart breaks for you Kevin Richardson.
She’s always had her sister as a companion; after 16 years, I can’t imagine the loneliness and sadness. They are smart animals. She may very well have seen it coming. Prayers for Meg :(
Meg probably spent a couple of days calling for her. It breaks my heart to think of it. I remember Kevin talking about how Vayetse grieved when his brother Mfumo died; that's what led to putting him with Jinny & Livy. Those two naughty sisters helped Vayetse become a happy, snappy lion again. Meg is too old & set in her ways to have a new companion. I worry about her. I hope Kevin is able to spend a little extra time with Meg.
Thank goodness Meg and Kevin have each other. They are lost in sadness, but not lost alone. They both sense each others sadness. It is overwhelming to lose someone we love but they are both very blessed in that they have each other. I adore animals. It's just devastating saying good bye. Meg will need Kevin now and he will not let her down. My heart is with both of them. 😥
@Snowy The Great - Yes, the team! I completely forgot about them, but i'm sure they'll miss Amy just as much as Kevin! I think you are the first to mention the team, your heart is in the right place.
The fact Amy waited for you... I truly believe animals can decide when they're ready. We lost our horse of 33 years last year. She waited until the whole family was home until she lay down and didn't get up again. We were all there. She was lion coloured :) The paw/hoof prints they leave on our hearts... thank you for being so candid.
When he sat with Meg and said "Daddy loves you." My little heart broke 💔 it goes to show that these lions are not just animals. They're not just friends, either. They're family.
When Amy died, I cried..little did I know that 4 months later I would lose my husband suddenly to advanced pancreatic cancer.. and now I feel like Meg must feel without her life-long partner. My brothers have been my "Kevin" in my life since he died. We all need a "Kevin" in our lives to love us. If you know someone who is hurting, please be their "Kevin". Bless you Kevin for showing us how important it is to be consistent in the way we love.
was with my mom Taking care of her for three months ,From her being first told that there's nothing that we can do ,,you have cancer Everywhere throughout your abdomen,, Till her death I was with her every second taking care of her till her last breath...Cancer is such a horrible thing, Three months of slowly deteriorate ,,bones breaking along the way .Her last words said to me was about a week before she passed, Exact last words"" I will miss you like crazy,I don't want to go...Then she was in and out of consciousness throughout the week but i made sure she had no pain I kept giving her oxy Under her tongue when she would start moaning in pain..., When she tryed to look at me. I noticed her eyes turned completely white..Then a day or so before her death ,I started noticing a change in her skin color a sign of organ failure.. I just sensed her death was coming that night so I made sure I stayed up with her every second ....then she took her last breath.... I didnt shed one tear,,, I just sat with her i was and even now i'm Heartbroken ,sad ,and very relieved, Traumatized and forever changed ,,,but yeah if I had to do it all over again I would ,,it was an honor to be there for my mother ,, Till the end.. I was so relieved she was no longer in pain... I didn't cry at all ,,for many months...Until certain memories of her would pop up... Rip To everyone and every soul lost ,,,we will never forget all the memories we made... Her death happened a few years ago ...Me and my 3 sisters we're always pretty close.. After my moms death I'd say five months after her death... we split all the assets 4 ways.. we No longer talk ,Pretty long story to type out in a comment... life never goes the way you think..Subscribe to my channel like my few videos of me and my dog feel free to leave comments ,I'll try my best to answer you or we could just chitchat and make friends.....Either way thanks for listening to me rant
She didn't know when you would be home, only that you would come back. Beceause you always had come back to her. And she was right, you did come back and helped her to pass.
Read this book, you will be amazed. Dogs That Know When Their Owners Are Coming Home, Rupert Sheldrake www.amazon.com/Dogs-That-Their-Owners-Coming/dp/0307885968
I sensed that Meg knew Amy was very ill when she allowed Amy to sit with Kevin first. Also her roar along with Amy's roar during the video about Amy's illness was heartbreaking.
First, it's called Netflix. Second, why are you complaining? You talk about the content on Netflix like you're forced to watch it. You don't even have to sit through teasers, trailers and promos for said 'trash'. You're complaining about the content on Netflix like the only content they _should_ have is to your liking. It's such a selfish, hollow way to be. Be thankful you have such an abundance of entertainment at your fingertips, _including_ access to a _free_ RUclips channel about a South African animal sanctuary. A little less griping and a lot more gratitude.
Sry but I don't think Kevin got low enough IQ for them to care to record any docu on his pride... This why they went to Merica... a perfect place where dumbness and arrogance goes over common sense.
Maybe Meg isn’t grieving in the way Kevin has seen in The past because Amy made Meg aware of her imminent end. Even wild animals are aware of death, I believe. Thank you for being who you are, Kevin Richardson. May many blessings come your way.
Humans are arrogant to assume animals don't have empathy and they underestimate animals intuitive Powers. Even Kevin, with all his experience, has said that he wonders what goes on in their heads..
I think you're right. I remember seeing a video about 3 animal best friends. 2 of them knew long before their owners that the other was going to die. They were at peace when the poor thing passed away.
Grtechen Targee I think Meg knew Amy was sick. I wish Meggie had a companion. When Kevin said she was at the fence line watching Bongani, Suja and George my heart broke 💔 a little. Kevin is the only other pride member she has. 😢
I had an experience of a very close friend waiting for me. He had been in ICU in a coma and the family allowed me to go say goodbye. I walked in, got a hand squeeze back. Less than 3 minutes and the monitors went nuts and he took his last breath. I don't know how beings know, but they do. I am so grateful to have felt the bonds of which sentient beings are capable 🙏.
Heartbreaking! Not only for your loss, Kevin, but also, for Meg and her need to be with her kind... 17 years with a companion that never went away, now all the sudden; gone. Hope she and Jorge do get to spend time together, and maybe this time, perhaps the pairing will start a new friendship for Meg.
Ditto, Al. I can’t imagine what Meg is going through losing Amy. Kevin, you’re doing an amazing job with not only Meg, but with all the other lions in the sanctuary. I’d like to see how Meg and Jorge go together so at least Meg has company with another lion 🦁
You felt the loss from the passing of this lion as strongly as the loss of a family member. I could see it in your eyes. My friend, you are doing exactly the job you were put on earth to do.
a job isn't a job when it is what you love and Kevin LOVES his felines and all the animals at the sanctuary. He is gifted and that has led him to doing this job yes but more than that he is living a dream. The gorillas had Dian Fossey and the lions and hyenas have Kevin Richardson. We as humans are blessed for the connection he has to these predatory wild animals in which he is able to show and teach us so much about them which we may not ever know. Thank you Kevin for following your heart and listening to that voice within. Blessings, love and light.✌💜🙃🙏
I too have leukemia and it's a brutal process. Amy's passing brought tears to my eyes as well. It's amazing the effect these videos can have on us. Prayers.
I cried when he said that Amy was just waiting for him to get back to say her last goodbye .. But i cried even harder when i heard him say "daddy loves you" 😭😭😭 ...
You have the heart of a lion sir, and you have my complete respect and admiration. You are also a very lucky man to have such magnificent animal friends. I envy you.
She knew. She knew she needed you, she knew you needed to say goodbye, she knew she needed to say goodbye and thank you at the end and she needed to hear it was ok to go. Meg will be just fine, she has you and everyone else there to love her. You're a remarkable, incredible man Kevin and we are with you and sending love. ❤
This was absolutely heartbreaking especially Amy not letting go before she could be with Kev one last time - made me cry so hard. I do hope Meg will connect with one of the other lions so she's no longer alone and I think George is actually quite a good choice. As Kev said as hard as it is life goes one but it's also true that we will never forget Amy as she was one of a kind and so is Meg. Thanks for making this video for us and sharing your grief. Love you all so much.
Yes, he talked about George and Yame, the two cubs he rescued from Spain five years ago. Well, they were cubs at that time, now they both are beautiful grown lions, even if George still suffers from health issues because of how he was mistreated when he was young. However, even if Meg feels lonely, I think she's too old now to be put with another lion or introduced to a new group. So, I'm not sure about what Kevin and his team will decide, but a little bit like Thor (the one who passed away a few years ago), she may have to stay by herself because there is no other solution...
With her showing interest in George & vice versa, perhaps they will bond. Sadly, these things take time. And all Kev can do is spend extra time with Meg. Like the loss of a loved one, Meg will heal in time. And so will Kev.😭
@@MissTwoSetEncyclopedia hi there.. I had the same mindset as you until I heard Kevin say Amy wants to be with her own kind now that her sister is gone. Georgie is such a special Lion and he has endured great suffering and probably has alot of compassion. My prayer is that since Lions are adaptable, that Meg will have Georgie as her new " boyfwend".. Lol Valentines Day is coming up.. I hope romance will be in the air for Georgie and Meg and that Yame will welcome her.. Blessings 💙🙏🦁
'Be careful humanizing lions' - now I have even more respect for this guy ! Not only did he manage to get to tame lions , he actually realized lions are 'tamed' not because they feel 'human emotions' . His capacity to understand wild animal emotions is pretty impressive !
There's no such thing as a 'tame' lion. They have a unique relationship with Kevin because it's a bond he nurtured from the time they were cubs. He's as familiar to them as a pride mate would be. But, they're far from tame. Search for a video of tourists visiting his sanctuary and see how differently the lions react to strangers. They're not tame by a long shot.
I have friends who do similar work to what Kevin does and they are... well it is hard to explain. Animals just like them. Even the wolverine on their property tolerates them which is saying a lot. Horses, big cats, deer, raptors, skunks, badgers... it doesn't matter they all see the one particular person differently. So they are not tame but for the right people they will trust even if you have not grown up with them. For the right person who carries them selves in the right way. He does not expect them to be human but accepts them for who they are. Most humans can't even do that with other humans without an agenda. He accepts their emotional life without trying to filter it through his human expectations. Unfortunately those people who can do this are thin on the ground. And most of them are women. Everyone thinks they have it, that bond with animals, but in reality it takes a person who is in many ways not cut out for human society. Humans are many things but among those things they are casually cruel in ways most people never even realize. I am not saying that to be harsh it is just part of being the kind of primate we are. The vast majority of people don't have the awareness of their actions and thoughts that are needed to get non-domesticated animals to trust them. It can be learned but part of the learning is putting aside the idea that you want to get close to an animal for your own sake and that is hard to shed. But they can read it on you like it was printed in neon colors and you can't fake it. Setting aside ego is not a human strength and it shows in your body language in ways you can't control. Like I said it is hard to explain. Even seeing how it works i can't do it and probably never will be able to. That is why you should never expect to bond with big cats like these and you should not try. You either have it or you don't and you should assume you don't.
Odd that the passing of an elderly lion on another continent feels like a void in my own life. Amy, your majesty, beauty, and devotion to Meg & Kevin stays treasured in hearts around the globe as our treasures, your inheritance...and we all wish we could have scratched your chin.
I still can’t believe Amy is gone, she was so precious.. sending you the strength and love you deserve to deal with this huge loss Kevin, Meg and the rest of the team. Rust zacht sweet Amy.
@@Emily-ot2tj Your right this is Meg with Kevin in this video talking about how they are both doing...there was a little snippet clip of Meg and Amy Kevin put in this video of the girls running towards him while he was on the ground with them. Otherwise this is all Meg with Kevin in this Meg update video. YES that's how you tell Meg is her tuft of hair that sticks up by her right ear. Other wise I could NEVER tell Meg and Amy apart.
I can´t imagine how hard losing Amy has been for Kevin and Meg, cause even I get teary eyed watching this video. Great, that Meg gets to interact with lions next to her like George every day, so she doesn´t feel that lonely. It´s so touching to hear how Amy waited for Kevin to come home, so she can let go.
Been thinking a lot about Meg and how she is doing. She’s lucky to have you there with her during this painful time. Rest in Peace Amy, beautiful soul.
The Daddy Loves You had me crying harder than I was...Very hard for me to watch still, But I have to revisit these so I can see Amy...I MISS HER, yet didn't even know HER yet the impact of her is magnified thru all the videos...to where you felt you DID know her and she matters to us....as Meg and Kevin...seeing them hurt makes me hurt for them. Kevin's loss and poor Megs are unattainable to us, because they are not on the same spectrum. This is therapeutic to just come to the videos...not to watch them but to read the comments and realize I am not the only one who misses Amy who we didn't know her personally. But , Kevin made sure we knew as much as we could, and for that I will always be GRATEFUL to Kevin❤
So true, the love you have for an animal is special, different than for a human. Animals give non conditional, non judgemental pure love. Humans are unable to do that.
They way he was talking about Amy I truly felt every single word and I just cried my eyes out 💔idk if anybody felt this way but I did , rip beautiful Amy
The problem is getting your friends to treat you the way Meg and Amy treat Kevin, as if you are the most important thing in their lives. He is their father; they are/were his daughters.
That’s a good sign that Meg is starting to feel something for George and George for Meg; I can’t help but hope that maybe she can stay with George and Yame....I just can’t stomach the thought of her staying alone...😞
@ The Real Deal... that would be great if Kevin were to introduce George and Yame to Meg, and it would be even better if the three can coexist without any confrontation. Only time will tell...
@@RosesofWillows she sure doesn't look like an old Granny..! She has a Powerful Soul and a Majestic Precence. They should be honored to be in her Presence.
After Amy gone and literally crying through out the video. I just reliased I have wasted so much of money on useless things such as ciggerates and stuffs. Maybe its time to put them in some good use. Really I missed seeing both big cats coming together, it was just like something is missing :( But its life and has to go on. Wishing luck for you and all your lovely animals :)
It's comforting knowing that Amy has peacefully passed from a life filled with joy and love. Makes it more satisfying to know she couldn't have asked for anything better. Much love
It's so very clear how much you love these animals. No one really knows how Meg is feeling since Amy is gone but the love you give her and the fact she is able to live out her life, how ever long it may be, surrounded by such love and care is what is so beautiful. Don't forget to also care for yourself and be kind to yourself because even the strongest need someone to lean on in emotional times. Thank you for posting this video and for all the work you do.
She knew you`d be there. Animals know when someone truly loves and cares for them. Someone they trust completely. They are so much smarter than we give them credit for. I`m so so sorry for this loss. I was crying for most of this video. I am so sorry for your pain.
I remember when Vatetse lost Mafumu. That melancholy howl he made was heartbreaking. Seems like Meg knew that Amy needed peace from her pain. I wish I could hug you both. I’m so sorry Kev
It's NOT only an issue of not wanting to be alone.. Bollocks to that! They absolutely grieve and miss those they love and lose.. Whether they vocalize or not.
Lindsay V I remember that too. That’s when I realized lions didn’t just run on instinct. They have emotions, too. It was good Kevin got Ginny and Livy for Vayetse.
i revisit this video from time to time, when i see a video about meggy. meg and amy were the first lions that introduced me to kevin richardson. and they will always have a special place in my heart.
It tears me up hearing the story how Amy waited for you before passing. It’s remarkable how animals connect with their care giver. In my opinion they know how to truly love more then most humans. They are capable so so much more. You are a lucky man Kevin for having these experiences in your life.
I believe that Meg knew that Amy was sick, she probably could smell it. No doubt she and her sister were connected to the end. Animals grieve and then move on, we tend to dwell on it as grieving for us is much more complex. Your relationship that you have with your animals is beyond words and how we as humans should be with animals. You are a blessing and a pioneer in your beliefs of having relationships with large often misunderstood animals. There is no doubt that although Amy is gone, she will always be in your heart and that's all that matters.
My dog wouldnt eat much for a year after my other dog passed, then just as he seemed to be getting back to his old self, he had an accident that ended his own life. Now I have been left grieving them both every day. RIP Amy.
Amy has gone to a beatuifull place she was a beautiful animal. And she will alwzys remember and love you. Bet she has come to to you in what we call the dream state. Obviously you were ment to be a lion wisperer. So nice to watch thank u😯👵
faisal faizi She didn't give up , she wouldn't do that to Meg , or Kevin . Sometimes we just fight losing battles , We fight to hold on as long as we can . I hate to think this or even say it but cancer wins most of the time , we've got to find a cure for cancer .
I'm crying. Watching this.i understand the love for an animal friend. Each one that leaves us after being In our lives leaves a print on our heart.that we carry with us every minute and day for the rest of time Thank you Kevin fpr sharing your honest emotions Beautiful. ❤❤❤❤
This is kind of like when my grandma passed away.....she had a really bad heart attack ...in the hospital ...they said she should have never made it to the hospital ...the doctors said she is waiting for someone ...that some one was me ...she could not talk but with her last breath she said ....I love you too !!!!! She passed away ...after that ...i was the whole time with her 💝
I'm glad Amy waited to see Kevin before she passed, she must've wanted to see her best friend and sister at least before she could peacefully passed, she must've felt happy she could spend her last moments with her favourite companions:) She'll always remain in our hearts for sure, hope Meg doesn't feel too lonely alone!
I remember when Kevin talked about trying to put Meg & Amy with another group and these two beautiful girls were not having it. I wish Meg could just live with Kevin 😥
@@deathbycheese850 Yes indeed they did. Perhaps now that she,'s gone and Meg is missing that connection with someone that will change. He said that she was showing an interest in George. Maybe now she'll be open to living with George and Yamei.
Omg, I cried watching this at the part when you talked about Amy waiting for you to come before she passed, she waited for her dad to say her final goodbye bc it would break your heart if she passed without you getting to say goodbye. I’ve been watching all your videos from the beginning and it felt as if theses lions are a part of my life vicariously. Meg seems more somber from her body language. Are you gonna try to introduce her to yami or any other lions so that she’s got a mate when humans aren’t around? Also, THANK YOU are all your hard word and dedication to save these lions and give them the best life possible! Thank you for everything you do may Allah bless you with good health and wealth and keep you safe! Lots of love, Mr.Richardson! ❤️
@@angryyoungman66 okay, and why would you assume he is muslim or not muslim? thats his life, this is about animal conservation and i love him for all his hardwork and dedication that most others would not even do!
you can see the pain in his face, ive been watching for years and tho i didnt have a physical connection with the beautiful amy i feel the pain of losing apart of a family member
It is hard when you lose any animal, but so glad Amy waited to see you before she passed, now she is at peace you gave her a good life & I'm sure Amy knew that. RIP Amy.
Amy waited for Kavin so glad that he was there for her , I feel so hurt listening to this I can only imagine what Kavin is going through it is so painful to say goodbye but she will stay in our memories forever God bless you &give you strength time will heal my love to Meg
I was out of town and my Dad was sick. He waited till I got to the hospital, woke up to speak to me, then passed on. I was Daddy's girl my whole life. I know what you mean about Amy waiting for you.
Damn that story of Amy waiting made me cry. Very glad to know she was able to say goodbye, that's probably her giving you closure and thanking you for the wonderful life.
This is quote a hard video to watch...the loss of Amy is palpable and visible in both you and Megs demeanor....we're truly indebted to the 22 years of hard work you've put into the Sanctuary and to your team and of course to the beautiful animals ❤
Thank you for this important update Kevin. I was so upset about Amy and also Meg having to go on without her sister. Here is what I observed: 1) Meg seems even more affectionate toward Kevin. She needs you & having more visits with her is very likely giving her the extra attention & love she is craving after Amy's passing. 2) She is doing better than I expected so that is giving all of us more peace of mind. 3) I felt from Meg that she had the time to adjust bc Amy's death was not sudden, and I am sure she smelled the cancer in her sister so instinctively she sensed impending death. *My question is: So was Amy in her own enclosure towards the end? If so that allowed Meg more time to adjust to being without her sister. It is truly remarkable & a testiment of Amy's love for you Kevin that she waited until your return before going to sleep forever. She needed to say goodbye one last time. I do believe our precious animals go to Heaven to await their human campanions. Thank you Kevin for this lovely video. I know it had to be difficult to show your emotional pain from this loss, but appreciate it bc it gave me closure and relief that Meg is doing ok. ❤️
My husband just passed last month so I'm certainly grieving with both of you, for his loss and for Amy's. We loved watching your videos together and he loved seeing your interactions with all the animals. It was actually one of the things that made him want to eventually open our own wildlife rescue here in the US. I know that if he can, he'll keep Amy company for you. ❤
She is a proud and intelligent lady. She knows AMY has passed. She knew AMY was ill when she roared to the other lions in the sanctuary in your last video with Meg and Amy. Yes she enjoys your visits even more now. I’m sure she will let you know if she gets lonely, but I think she is fairing very well. She is a beautiful lioness. Thanks for this beautiful video.❤️🦁
Animals are much more in tune with the circle of life than we are. I know she was waiting for you to say “I love you” and “goodby for now…”. You are a good man to share this with us.
Man this is a tuff one. I fell in love with Meg and Amy the second I found this channel almost 2 yrs ago. I can only imagine how you all there feel. My heart breaks for Kevin, but I’m sure he’s at peace knowing he gave her the best life full of love, attention, and happiness. Meg definitely sensed Kevin’s sadness and tried to comfort him. The bond he has with the lions is unexplainable. Rip Amy Lioness you are truly loved and will always be in my heart ❤️🦁🧡
Almost two years later; I still cry watching this. Rudyard Kipling's, "A Heart to Tear" best describes the grief we go thru when we love an animal with our whole heart.
I will always believe that the so-called "lower" animals understand and accept death, including their own approaching death, better than humans do. I suspect that Meg knew Amy's condition, probably through smell if not communication with her, so she understood why Amy did not come back. She may not have grieved as much because she understood. And Amy wanted to say Goodbye to you, so she waited. You occasionally hear stories about people or their pets who apparently waited/chose their time to go. The ONLY guarantee there is in life is death, and it is necessary that all living things die and return to the earth so it can continue to produce new life. It is natural to mourn whom we lose, and it is natural to have someone who is most special and hardest to lose. Depending upon your personal beliefs, you will see Amy again in your afterlife or your next life or when you rejoin her as you both replenish the earth and complete the circle of life. Thank You so much for sharing your love of your animals with us.
Please don't leave Meg alone for to long. I started to cry when you were pulling up to her enclosure. She seems out of place without Amy. You're all she has. With much love for you both 🕊🕊🕊 and as for Amy waiting for you, well you always came back. She knew this and was able to wait for you to say Goodbye, for now. ⚘⚘⚘
Wow. What an amazing gift Amy gave you in her last hours/moments on this earth plane. I'm glad to hear that she was at peace. And a Huge hug and thank you Kevin, for sharing what was a very special intimate time w/Amy. And yes she did wait for you.........they know
It’s been 6 years since my cat passed and I still miss her meeting me at the door. I can’t imagine the sadness of going to the enclosure with Amy missing.
I cried like a girl when we lost our cat of 18 years. She was a family member. I can’t imagine the loss you’re feeling. My heart goes out to you and the big cat community. 😭
My cat is 17 and I'm terrified of when I'll lose her. The kind of pain one gets from losing their pet is so heartbreaking. I am sorry for your loss and I'm so sorry for Kevin's pain of going through this while still having to manage so much.
H. S. We lost her 9 years ago and it still feels like yesterday. We still find moments of sadness when we think of her absence but we also take great comfort knowing we gave her a wonderful, rich life - and she gave the same back. Hope your kitty sets a new life expectancy record.
@@mp9508 Thank you for your kindness. And that is the best thing a person can do for their pets, give them everything to thrive and have to best life they can. To anyone else reading this, please take time to have sweet, quiet moments with your pets. Appreciate the time you have.
I have lost many beloved pets and it is one of THE most deep and lasting pains In life as far as I am concerned. I have many cats now that I rescued myself and I wonder about how I will deal with the loss of them, especially one in particular that I am extremely attached to and who is deeply boned to me. I rescued him and his sister at 4 months old near a busy highway when they were feral kittens. They are now about 10 years old.
My heart runs in the grass with the girls. I came home a few weeks ago and found my poor old man cat had passed in the kitchen, haven't cried that hard since my dad passed. Gone but never forgotten, RIP Amy and Sonny.
We love things. It's wonderful. Amy was wonderful. What a profound privilege to have known her AND to have given her joy. Animals are so good for us. They help us to stay in the moment and make the most of every day of life. Thank you for sharing her with us. Thank You, Thank you, Thank you.
I can imagine how hard it is for Kevin to forget about Amy's loss yet he manages himself to be normal that nothing has happened. You are so great Kevin ❤️ .

"Daddy loves you" ... that is probably the shortest most meaning sentence that describes Kevins relationship with the cats. Its not just an animal.
InsaneTiger07 He is Daddy...he raised them from cubs and was the one that bottle fed them. He has indeed been their dad. No question about that. I agree❤❤❤❤
With the hyenas too, don't forget the majestic Bongo.
Poor old Meg, she always had her sister by her side and the sudden loss of companionship definately left her a little bit lonely there.
Amy was an animal, start to finish. It's the word 'just' that is the problem.

I’m a 45 year old man and I broke down crying when he said “ daddy loves you “ how many times I have said that to my cats and dogs. They become your family. My heart breaks for you Kevin Richardson.

I have so much respect for a man who can show emotional depth and compassion. It takes a REAL man to be able to cry..
She’s always had her sister as a companion; after 16 years, I can’t imagine the loneliness and sadness. They are smart animals. She may very well have seen it coming. Prayers for Meg :(
Beanie 89 lovely comment! ❤️❤️
Katherine Uribe wow that’s amazing. Grief is grief for a human and a lion. It hurts regardless. I feel for Meg and Kevin

May Amy RIP and may Kevin and his team cope with this tremendous loss.
Snowy The Great & Meg
Thank goodness Meg and Kevin have each other. They are lost in sadness, but not lost alone. They both sense each others sadness. It is overwhelming to lose someone we love but they are both very blessed in that they have each other. I adore animals. It's just devastating saying good bye. Meg will need Kevin now and he will not let her down. My heart is with both of them. 😥

It's amazing how sensitive animals are before they die, by waiting to say their last goodbye's before they pass.

@@patriciab7137 it is in the video Devastated about Amy's illness.
Yes
Netflex should be doing series about this man here than the multitude of trash they are putting out.
Yes I totally agree Kevin's life with his Lions should be documented
I totally agree..
I am very happy He is Not on Netflix.
Maybe Meg isn’t grieving in the way Kevin has seen in The past because Amy made Meg aware of her imminent end. Even wild animals are aware of death, I believe. Thank you for being who you are, Kevin Richardson. May many blessings come your way.
Your right animals do know when its time
Humans are arrogant to assume animals don't have empathy and they underestimate animals intuitive Powers.
Im just so glad Kevin got the chance to say goodbye to Amy. She waited for him with every last bit of strength she had. That’s love. 💕

Morgan Myers There is Charlie, but he did said George. 💛
@@thebloodrose96 oh thankyou for telling me that.. I had never heard of Charlie. News to me.. 🦁💙

Hello Kevin
Cried about the loss of your Amy and how she loved you & your love for her.
God bless you & your lions.
'Be careful humanizing lions' - now I have even more respect for this guy ! Not only did he manage to get to tame lions , he actually realized lions are 'tamed' not because they feel 'human emotions' . His capacity to understand wild animal emotions is pretty impressive !
Dimka Lie This is something I never thought of before until he said it. ♥️💕💔
she wasn't fully tamed though richardson himself said so
There's no such thing as a 'tame' lion.
I remember Keanu Reeves answering when asked what happens when we die: „I know that the one’s who love us will miss us“.
We miss you Amy.
Amy was a special girl.she waited for your return.she wouldnt leave youvwithout saying goodbye. God bless her,

It tears me up hearing the story how Amy waited for you before passing. It’s remarkable how animals connect with their care giver. In my opinion they know how to truly love more then most humans. They are capable so so much more. You are a lucky man Kevin for having these experiences in your life.
Is Kevin only a caregiver??
Anshuman Patra “ONLY?” What you don’t think the word caregiver is appropriate or means less ? It’s a word. Obviously he’s a lot more.
There is no doubt that although Amy is gone, she will always be in your heart and that's all that matters.

you can see the pain in his face, ive been watching for years and tho i didnt have a physical connection with the beautiful amy i feel the pain of losing apart of a family member
I can relate to the grieving even if my friend was a house cat. 18 yrs together creates a very special bond. I miss him every day.
Damn that story of Amy waiting made me cry.
Very glad to know she was able to say goodbye,
that's probably her giving you closure and thanking you for the wonderful life.
This is quote a hard video to watch...the loss of Amy is palpable and visible in both you and Megs demeanor....we're truly indebted to the 22 years of hard work you've put into the Sanctuary and to your team and of course to the beautiful animals ❤
Awwww, I kind of felt like Meg was comforting you and grieving with you in her silent way.
I lost it at “Daddy loves you”. You are such a blessing Kevin ☺️
I lost it even before that part. 💔😭
Thank you for this important update Kevin. I was so upset about Amy and also Meg having to go on without her sister.
Here is what I observed:
1) Meg seems even more affectionate toward Kevin.
What an honor to have beautiful Amy wait to say goodbye. You have her the peace she needed:) What a beautiful life she had because of you.
.Never ever be afraid to show your emotions Kev............Where there was deep grief....There was great love.......................
I'm so sorry for your loss Adelaide. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely sorry for your loss Adelaide. Your husband is forever with you just notice the signs around you. Sending strength your way.
I'm so sorry for your loss Adelaide. You're in my thoughts.
I know I’ll be crying the second it starts. My heart breaks for you and Meggie. ❤️❤️❤️
I know. I'm crying like crazy right now just reading all the comments. I've broken down so many times since her passing. R.I.P. Sweet Amy! ❤️
Me too x
Man this is a tuff one. I fell in love with Meg and Amy the second I found this channel almost 2 yrs ago. I can only imagine how you all there feel. My heart breaks for Kevin, but I’m sure he’s at peace knowing he gave her the best life full of love, attention, and happiness. Meg definitely sensed Kevin’s sadness and tried to comfort him. The bond he has with the lions is unexplainable. Rip Amy Lioness you are truly loved and will always be in my heart ❤️🦁🧡
The sadness i feel at watching does not even come close to the pain i see in your eyes......
I completely agree with you
Please don't leave Meg alone for to long. I started to cry when you were pulling up to her enclosure. She seems out of place without Amy. You're all she has. With much love for you both 🕊🕊🕊 and as for Amy waiting for you, well you always came back. She knew this and was able to wait for you to say Goodbye, for now. ⚘⚘⚘
AMEN!
Wow. What an amazing gift Amy gave you in her last hours/moments on this earth plane. I'm glad to hear that she was at peace. And a Huge hug and thank you Kevin, for sharing what was a very special intimate time w/Amy. And yes she did wait for you.........they know
I started watching the site 6 weeks before beautiful Amy passed away. I've learned so much about the animals. It's a wonderful site. ❤
H. S. You’re most welcome. Peace, love & critter hugs.
Ive been watching him for 5 years now and I’m really going to miss seeing amy. May she rest in peace🙏🏾❤️
Rest in Paradise beautiful Amy. ❤

Very sad indeed, she was definitely a beautiful lioness and that picture that you uploaded with her on the community board says it all very powerful picture.
