- In the final mission of the game, we have the final showdown against the Empire's flagship and fleet. Unfortunately, they have some tricks up their sleeve and are well prepared for our arrival.

I always tried to move my mothership with my fleet whenever I could. Then again I never got this far in Homeworld... Great LP!
I did that in the original sometimes. However I couldn't seem to get it to move in this game.

I think my main issue was that I never captured any enemy ships.
100%. Capturing enemy ships is completely broken in the campaign, and from my experience is almost required to make the later stages possible to beat.
Yeah... I never managed to finish Homeworld 1 Campaign. Cataclysm? 2? Deserts of Kharak? No problem, with enough time. But no matter how much I struggled I never was able to finish 1.
Revisiting this mission. Took me 3 hours. Hard but satisfying
The first wave is just brutal
It very much is. I hope people keep individual saves for levels leading up to this one, because there are certain levels of power where you just can't survive it.

I've defeated the first wave that rushes the mothership, then 2 support waves. But then the game stalls. I can't get the mission to progress past that point. I've tried reloading from earlier points. Closing and re-opening the game. It just won't progress. Is there some specific thing I need to do to trigger the mission to progress?
It's been awhile, but I do recall some of the waves took some time to appear. I also forget if Captain Nelson always shows up or if you had to do something special in an earlier mission. Since the end goal of this is just to kill the opposing mothership, you can try just destroying that. Just know that they have a very strong fleet over there, so you may need to be more careful with handling them in small groups separately without the help of the rebels.
@@darkchiron Yeah that's what I ended up doing. Just scour the whole map until I found the flagship, then killed that. Nelson never showed but the mission finally ended. Thanks anyway for the reply!

Build Sensor Array and find red spot from biger map.
How can I beat first massive attack?
First comes the attack from below and the next from above. The third wave comes from the front. First you have to quickly destroy the attack wave from below and above. After this, all the power is directed to the wave coming from the front. The mother ship will be repaired at the same time with six Support Frigates. I barely made it through. I had all the capital ships and almost a full fleet. Repairing slows down the destruction of the mothership. Only a small red line was left of the mother ship when I was able to destroy the massive attack. I wonder if there should have been more Support Frigates to repair.
Save files can be changed. It is a .lua file and it is activated only if you select the reset function in the mission. The Rus value can be changed to 999999 with the Windows notepad program. The value is at the end of the file. Lua mission save files are in the game folder HomeworldRemasterdCollecti - HomeworldRM - Bin - Profiles - Profile1 - Campaign - HOMEWORLDCLASSIC.
