I begun my smart scope jurney with a D2. Then I bought a S50 and sold the D2 because the Seestar produced much better results. Then I headed to a Vepera 2 which caused me to sell the Seestar. In May I heard about the upcoming release of the D3 and jumped on the preordering train. I like the idea of having a small scope for easy taking on trips. The result images seen so far look very promising too. But the continuing delays in shipping estimations finally lead me to the decision to cancel my preorder. For now I stick with my V2 even if it is out for warranty repair currently.
Thanks for the feedback. I wish also dwarflab could deliver faster the telescopes since i just reviewd the dwarf 3 and people would like to be able to get it faster if they order, just noticed they gave a discount on the d3 for preorder might worth checking it out if you still want to buy the d3
Excellent comparison and In depth analysis of the two. Just confirms what I always thought. The equatorial mode is a game changer, and more than makes up for the smaller aperture on the D3. Not to mention the wide angle lense and other functions the dwarf 3 has that the seestar doesn't. Thank you

I own a D2 and am waiting for the D3, so I am happy with the quality of the Dwarf's images :-)
To be honest, though, the better resolution of the S50 remains a strong point for the ZWO smart telescope..
I hope for a future S60 or S70, so the difference in use with the D3 will be even more obvious: one for wide fields and one for smaller objects.
Your welcome, i am glad you enjoyed the video. Because of the dwarf 3 i think zwo needs to come up with larger aperture telescope like an 80 mm or more that can so also planetary to be able to get again on top
@@GalaxyArtMedia I said 60 or 70 because I'm just afraid that 80mm aperture would lead to excessive length and weight, to the detriment of portability (and cost 😅). If they can do it, great! 💫💫
@@FabioPegli From 70 mm could give also some decent planetary views with a good quality high magnification barlow

Hello and welcome. Regarding tripod best to have available a taler and more stabile tripod. The dwarf 2 tripod will no hold. Will look later and share some tripods in the video description
Great video! Thank you very much for this very detailed comparison! By the way, did you know that the Seestar S50 can be use in EQ mode? Even if it doesn't has a native EQ mode, you can put in in a wedge, aling it and it will work in EQ mode. Also I'd like to see a comparison of solar a lunar imaging modes. Thanks!
Thank you also. Glad you enjoyed watching. I preffer to avoid using the seestar in eqmode is not recommended you cand damage the motors. So if you decide to use it in eq mode is on your own risk if will be damaged or not work good after
Good comparison. I would have liked to see a tracking comparison in alt az mode for each, no just the dwarf 3 in eq mode.

I have dwarf 2 and have imaged the cave nebula over 3 days total subs 1500 came out better than expected but not as good as your dwarf 3 images

130 nu am folosit. Ed80 de la skywatcher a fost primul meu telescop, am obtinut niste imagine foarte bune cu el, daca te intereseaza e de vanzare, optica in stare perfecta si focuserul reglat mai ok ca si cand il cumperi nou am pus setul cu cutia skywatcher oculare diagonala cautator pachet complet pe olx la 2000 ron dar nu stiu daca mai e valabil anuntul
