Among the areas voting are southern states - where the ruling B-J-P hopes to make progress.
The Indian government has failed to give visas to Al Jazeera’s correspondents to report on this story. Therefore, we are covering the election from outside the country.

BJP can make head ways in Kerala under three situations:
1- Keralites lose their literacy.
2- Keralites become malnourished so that they will sell their votes for one sack of rice.
3- Keralites lose their language of bond cutting across casts, religions and politics.
Unfortunately it is very difficult to unlearn and undo the social development. So Kerala may remain BJP free land.
