We preach the Kratky method too! So accessible and simple.Great video. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful idea and technique of planting
Great idea, thank you very much for your helpfull video, hope we see more video in future. Wish your good health sir.
Very beautiful plant varieties looking good and healthy
Beautiful ❤
Very healthy white roots.
nice setup
GREAT IDEAS!!! I like the post and brackets
Thank you!💜
This is amazing! Thank you for sharing! I'm a newbie for this and want to start growing. I would love to do this set up against my house.
Do you think it would be best to put it up where there ia no direct sunlight?
Welldone Brother !
your job is great ❤
Thank you! I'm glad you like it. Btw, I'm a lady👩💜
I ordered hydroponics kit from shoppe. The seeds given to me has germination percentage of only 5 percent or even less . I am so discourage why their are companies who do not have quality control on there product.
This was awesome! Can I ask, when you harvest these, do you remove the whole plant and start again or do you harvest the leaves and let them grow back? Also do you periodically have to clean the containers?
hi..i find in the video you did not use coco peat..but use sponge foam..is it OK to combine both?
What nutrient solution do you use?
Would that work in a hot climate area?
Once filling water will be enough for one time harvest?
Can I use a 3.5" shallow reservoir filled with water instead of a deep container as long as I make sure the water stays filled at least half way🤔. I just built a 2'x8' platform with 2x4 sides and a foam top. 💯
Wow sis ang lulusog pwede ng gawin salad! Parang gusto ko yan i try kaya lang wala talaga akong time:)) Thanks for sharing this sis nakakaaliw:)
Thank you sis😘
They are looking amazing!! Congrats on your beautiful lettuce!!!
One question do you not get any algae growing on your sponges? I find those sponges tend to grow algae and when you wash them you also need to use bleach as well? Your lettuce looks fantastic!! Currently I’m growing abundance of lettuce too and I find it really thrives if I cut it around the outer leaves and then I have harvests every 7-10 days and it keeps growing. How often do you add nutrient solution or do you add plain water from time to time?
Thank you! 😍 so far no algae issue. I think because of the cup I use. They are almost half way covered by it and not expose to sunlight. The set up is in the east of the house and get shade at noon. I guess it helps that way. No bleach even with hydroton. I only use boiling water. I have a small semi DFT system I got from amazon that uses square foam. When I put the foam to their cute tiny net cups it sit all way to the top. I fight with algae on that system a lot and to date I still do not know how to get away with it😊. I do use 90% alcohol to wipe or use them for last rinse on some of my container to disinfect. I just add few drops to the water.
etry ko to sis maka chance pag dina me busy,
kahit ilang piraso lang.
👏👏👏
What are dimensions for sponge ??
galing namn tlga👏👏
😀🥰🥰
What a great set up! Did you have to fill more nutrients into the system during the grow cycle? Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome! Happy to share. For this set up. No, the nutrients were sufficient up to harvest.🌱🙂
Can we use pvc pipe
Yes you can🌱😊
Thanks for sharing this informative video galing nmn...#teampabigas
Thank you po😊
Your 2 gal/5 gal tower set up & harvest looks amazing!! Where do you get the dual reflective foil insulation and the styrofoam board on top of your rectangular coolers? Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome! Happy to share. Both were from home depot🌱🙂
@@healinghobbies What tool did you use to cut the styrofoam in such perfect circles 🤩?
oh I heated a tomato sauce can in a stove, it's a perfect fit for 3" hole, I like that method it comes out clean on the sides unlike using a hole saw. Here is how it's made ruclips.net/video/DfDqsObRkV4/видео.html, creating the holes is near at the end part of this video 🌱🙂
Thank you for the video. Two questions. Could One skip starting seeds in soil and start seeds in the foam? Do you harvest the whole head of lettuce or just a few leaves as needed?
Thank you for watching. Yes you can start seeds from foam media. The downside is it develop algae growth when u start exposing them to sunlight or grow light. Also, in my experience I have less success germinating seeds on foam but for some it works. With the harvest I do both, there were times I’ll cut the whole head of lettuce for a salad and at times, I just pinch a few leaves for sandwiches😊. I hope this helps.Keep Growing!💦🌱
I have a question, can I use this fertilizer mix for hydroponics of indoor flowers?
Yes you can! I use it on both indoor and outdoor plants too.🌱🙂
why and when do you transfer into a larger container? How long should you grow in a small container? What can you grown in small containers until harvest?
After the seedlings has been hardened off for 3-4 days, you may transfer them to a growing container. Alternatively, you can directly harden the seedlings in the growing container itself. During the hardening process, keep the lettuce seedlings in partial shade. To avoid the transplanting/hardening process, direct sowing is also an option. Typically, lettuce can be harvested within 25-30 days after transplanting. There are no restrictions on the container size for growing lettuce. I've experiment growing lettuce in small multivitamin containers. However, small containers require frequent nutrient refills, especially when growing leafy greens. To avoid this, use a container with a capacity of at least one gallon. With fruiting plants, I've used at least 5 gallon buckets growing tomatoes, eggplants, cucumber, melons and peppers. I hope this helps!🌱🙂
Hi po ano pong nutrient solution ang gamit mo po
Wow! Ang galing neto sis. Ikaw lang gumawa neto sis?
Thank you sis😘 uu ako lang😄
مرحبًا If you want to use organic fertilizers instead of chemical fertilizers
Thank you for sharing! Are you manually checking water levels and just adding water accordingly? Are you adding water by picking up a plant?
Happy to share! Yes to all🙂. Though, with this particular set up and reservoir size, it may not always be necessary to refill the nutrient solution until harvest time, particularly during the spring season. For mid summer, plants takes up a lot of nutrients and moisture . Therefore refill when necessary.🌱🙂
Is that foam just what is used by florists for making flower arrangements?
Those were sponge/cushion foam. Other alternatives to support the plants are clay pebbles, cloning collars and pool noodle🌱🙂
@@healinghobbies I have the same LAPOND system that you have on your affiliate page with the 1.7 inch square cups. That is my only system at this time. I plan on making a few other kratky systems out of things like pickle jars, coffee canisters anything that I can use. Your video is very helpful.
Thank you! I like the Lapond for a semi NFT system. The only challenge with it is the middle section do'nt get much sunlight otherwise its a good system. Are you growing greens with Kratky? You can use almost any containers available at home(recycle-milk jugs, milk cartons, juice bottles, coke etc)🙂. I would suggest though to lessen the hassle of refilling, use at least 1.8L (orange juice ) or one gallon milk jugs. Other alternative is a 40qt tote container or dish bus tubs. Those can grow at least 8-10heads of leafy greens without refill. If you are growing Kratky for fruiting plants like tomatoes, eggplants, pepper or cucumber. Go with at least 5 gallon up. 🌱🙂
Eager to know what is the TDS level and Ph Level...
I like to keep it simple, I do not measure pH or TDS level🌱🙂
@@healinghobbies aha !
brother what is the silver colour material on pipes ?/what is the use of it ?
It's a dual reflective foil insulation. It provides an extra layer of protection against heat and maintaining the nutrients at a cool temperature.🌱🙂
@@healinghobbies thank you brother god bless you 🙏
Can we use alumunium foil?
@@prabeshacharya4075 No it should be insulation foam.
You didn't show the critical step - how do you germinate and what media are you using?
Yes I did not, I lost the footages on sowing & germination stage of this particular seedlings. This is only a quick guide and ideas to those who like to start their journey to hydroponics. I am working on a full tutorial that will cover. From seed to harvest: sowing, germination, seedling management, nutrients etc..hopefully next month I’m waiting to complete the plant progress.
@@healinghobbies hello, new subscriber here wondering if you have had a chance to upload that tutorial by now?
@@opheliabells I'm sorry didn't complete that particular content. I got sidetrack with other projects. However, If you are looking for specific topics or how to guides such as seed germination or nutrient solutions. I do have several videos on the playlist that might be useful. Happy Gardening!🌱🙂
@@healinghobbies ok, thanks for the reply. I will definitely dig around. I really feel like I'm capable of doing this, seeing your setup really inspired me to get going for sure.
@@opheliabells I'm glad to hear it. I'm sure you can! I remember started experimenting using ice cream and milk jug containers, bought a lettuce seedlings from a nursery to try out. It's amazing to see the growth progress and from then I've tried several fruiting plants. I'm loving it! For trial just get some nutrient solution and seedlings (leafy greens, like kale, lettuce & bok choy) are good plants to learn the process. I don't even worry about the ppm or the pH. It is great know those info. Just don't overthink and try to enjoy the process. Feel free to ask questions. I will be happy to help when I can!🌱🙂
Made in what materials ang pinaglalagyan ng styro cup na may
Lettuce? Can you give us the details just for info...
Sure sir, 4x4 fence post sleeve po🌱🙂
What kind of foam
A foam cushion (airtex) from craft store. I just cut it into shapes.🌱😊
Is that a PVC? The one Coated with insulator?
It's a Vinyl Post Fence Sleeve🌱🙂
Ah so is there really a need to coat it with insulator? How about the aeration? Inside the PVC? I thought when we use PVC it should require a pump? I hope my mind be cleared of that.
Where can I order ingredients
If ingredients po ng nutrient solution. Available po dyan satin ang masterblend online.
What variety of lettuce are those?
Grand rapids😊🌱
@@healinghobbies thank you
ano po organic pesticide gamit po ninyo
Wala po e paminsan kapag may aphids/leafminer or slugs. Hydrogen Peroxide lang po mix sa water or minsan nag sprinkle po ako ng Food grade na DE( diatomaceous earth)
Who eats that much lettuce? Are you feeding the neighborhood?
😂😂 I thought the same thing but maybe she sells it at farmers markets
Facing east up to 6hrs sunlight po.🌱🙂
