Great to watch an in-depth honest review of a car👍🏼 I’ve the pre facelift mg5LR and I’d highly recommend it. It won’t date as it’s already old fashioned looking, 250+ miles range and a yearly average of 4.1miles per kw which is the important thing. At 8p per kWh to charge at night I’m getting a yearly average of 2p per mile.
Thanks Jasper, nice review of the car. Not so many estate (Station Wagons) now for sale which is a shame 😢. Always had a number of estates in my time and I really love them. Seems that SUV`s are all the rage now so it’s good to see an affordable estate again. Thanks for your review as always nicely done. 😊 Paul.
Thank you for watching, Paul - glad you enjoyed it! It's definitely refreshing to see a manufacturer willing to make an estate, and a good one at that!
Hi Jasper, I rarely comment on RUclips. First I really enjoyed your review, big part of it your calm and pleasant voice. Don't know how the British reviews are in general, but in Germany it is so much overexitment and click baiting. Just one thing missing, would have loved to have a bit on charging and energy consumption. Thanks anyways, keep on going.
While I agree such a piece of content would be useful I think a lot of the regular viewers of this channel wouldn't engage with it so I probably can't justify posting like that. There are a number of brilliant channels that specifically just look into EV range, charging and battery tech and I'm sure one of them will have covered the MG5, they also tend to not use the bombastic style of presenting that you don't like so I think you'll enjoy their videos.
Nice review Jasper. Is there any update on the crash safety of the car though? The facts seems to be limited, apart from a zero score in Australia. Do we know if the Euro model is the same?
Thank you! The zero-star ANCAP result for the Australian-Market MG5 Saloon isn't relevant to the car in this video. The two models are both badged as MG5, but the EV-only Euro-market model is a different vehicle under the skin. While this model has not yet been tested by Euro NCAP, other MGs which are closely related have achieved 5-star ratings. Essentially, looks like the Euro model is quite different to the one sold in the Australian market and seems to be much safer!
@@BuckleUpShow Hey Jasper - thanks for the reply. This is the most sense I've been able to get on this and I'm glad to hear that. Nice one, thanks for your efforts!

Some excellent numbers there, glad you're enjoying your MG5, and thanks for the comment! 😊
Great review Jasper and I must say that MG are coming out with some great designs and body styles to meet every ones needs 👍
Thank you as always! Really enjoyed my time with this car on test, plus love the updated styling 😁😁

Needs wind deflectors to prevent water rolling off the roof through open windows .
Things that Jasper hates most in the world in order are:
1) Brexit
2) Wearing trousers that fit correctly
3) Wind deflectors
Good review but it was a estate should have shown with the back seats down
You need to see if there is enough space for dogging?
@BuckleUpShow if you're doing a review do it right show that it is an estate maybe dogging round your neck of the woods love ❤️
Would this car work for family of 5?
Yes, absolutely, assuming you aren't all 1.8 m tall and have bulky shoulders 😂
