This is going to backfire horribly. Ivy League schools don’t care about the revenue from their athletic programs. They each have billions in endowment funds that only grow larger each year. And there’s no way that schools that don’t even give out athletic scholarships are going to restructure all of their student compensation and admissions policies to meet the demands of a program that costs more to run than it brings in.
The implications of this go way beyond the NLRB, but they are all linked. If this doesn't get overturned in addition to the House v NCAA and Johnson v NCAA cases which are upcoming, the only schools that can truly afford college athletics/Title IX sports in the future will be the SEC, Big Ten, and whatever remnants of the ACC flee to the Big 12 once Florida State/Clemson/UNC and others leave for the Power 2. That is inevitable, and many lower level D1 schools will simply cut most non-revenue sports.
Dumb move. Dartmouth doesn't generate enough money from basketball for this. Soon, many schools just won't have sports. The cost will be too pricey. Big schools will be fine but the others are in trouble.
If they want to get paid, they can give up their athletic scholarships and get paid, then they will have money to pay for the school they are attending.
This will be funny when theyboffer a taxable scholarship. Yes, the cost of tuition and house will be paid to you as income. So now you get pay income tax on your scholarship....that will be funny. Its not enough they get a free education at an IV league school but now they want more. I would do as I said and next year offer them a check, followed with a W2, for the cost of tuition and housing. See how they like paying taxes in what was previously free

Simple way to stop that, quit giving out athletic scholarships.
So so true
The program does not make money so the school will just end the program
Dumb move.

Most d1 schools lose money on sports. Sports will simply be cut if that’s the case. Pretty sure Dartmouth wouldn’t care
You have a gift for teaching. Truly remarkable!
I am so proud of these guys. Hopefully this starts a new trend in college sports.
It will.
Most colleges are going to eliminate sports.
P5 schools will be fine.
The rest are in trouble.
With a name like @DamocRatsUnite I can see why they'd be 🦚 proud 🤦
It will
and little league. heck lets pay kids to go to elementary school cause thats like a job right.
@@SgtJoeSmith You’re joking, but I’m in favor of paying college kids
When you average .9 points 😂😂😂😂 you should pay the school for being terrible
um you dont get hired to play ball in school. dont play then! you see its called play ball not work ball. cause its play not work!
If their games bring in money they should be paid too.
If they want to get paid, they can give up their athletic scholarships and get paid, then they will have money to pay for the school they are attending.
They make the WNBA look like financial juggernauts .
How many Ivy league sports generate positive cash flows ?
None,would be my guess.
Nobody outside of the Ivy League thinks about Ivy League sports.
@@davidmilton5887 Harvard hockey does pretty well.
@chuckgranger9777
What is "pretty well" in dollar amount ?
Wrong way of going about things. This will only create more bureaucracy and increased spending. YAY MORE TAXES!🤦♂️
