A great tutorial Sir, basically it's just a full size working drawing snapped out on the floor. I understood it all except I can't figure out where you got the 4-1/2" measurement at the wall plate. I must watch it again to see if I can figure it out, 👍🔨🇮🇪
I like the video, but I have to point out in the first two examples the lines were drawn to the wrong corner point in the lower-right corner after you made a big deal about putting an arrow there to make sure we use the correct point. It was around 2:32 and 2:40. It was corrected by the time we got to 3:00.
If I want to make a 36' wide gambrel roof, what are my options for floor joists without needing a center support? Would "I" shaped osb joists be the least expensive?
Maybe the joist in this video or similar joist made out of metal. ruclips.net/video/zvPQd95UHH8/видео.html I would install a beam in the middle to cut floor span in half to really save money if you can.
why not? I've seen 36' wide gambrel trusses. I guess if you just wnat to stick with 24' long material your point is valid, but one can easily get longer materials.
That was the most informative, detail oriented video.. 👌🏼👍🏻👍🏻 Thank you for your time and dedication 🙏
My pleasure!
Great video Greg, really appreciated this style of video/ explanation. Clear and to the point, Thank you.
Very welcome
Great job on explaining how easy it is!
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome!

I will put it on my list, but it didn't win the contest. I will be showing how to build second floor over single story house.
Just what I needed for my roof
Layout
Awesome.
What would be the lengths of the upper and lower legs on a 14' wide bldg.
Hi we are building a new house with the gambler roof in New York city. Could you help us with the roof drawings based on your code?

I need help w a tall retaking block wall, can u giv me some advise?
With this design couldn't you extend the rafter out past the walls to be able to add In a soffit?
Yes, you would need to change the roof framing.
Howz he gonna give you a reply that could be interpreted as a yes or a no? 😂
It's a yes, simply extend your rafter ends
Just what I needed.
I'm glad it helped.
Why do you need to lift it the 4 and 1/2 inches up???
Great video!
Everyone of the three points must fit inside a semi circle, you can move them within the circle
Great job
Thanks
❤❤❤❤cool
Plus when your laying out the roof you can not exceed 24' in width
