Funny thing, California is a lot more difficult than other states. When I moved to Georgia, I called a shop and asked what you had to do to purchase because my home state of Illinois you had to apply for a FOID card (Firearm Owners ID) and that took time and then there was some waiting once you purchased one. The guy on the phone in GA broke it down for me thusly, "You got the cash we got the guns."
