- Aliquippa, PA, just 30 miles outside of Pittsburgh, is known as a hotbed for NFL talent. Having produced the likes of Mike Ditka, Ty Law, Darelle Revis and others, Aliquippa has long been a staple in the Northeast area in regard to high school football. Because of the school’s consistent success, facility renovations have started to inch to the top of the program’s priority list. That area in general, Western Pa produced a gang of HoF'ers and NFL legends and vets...some not to far from Quip...Joe Namath, Beaver Falls, Pa (10 miles west )... Joe Montana, New Eagle, Pa (41 miles southeast)...Jim Kelly, East Brady, Pa ( 40 miles northeast)...Curtis Martin, Dan Marino, and Johnny Unitas, Pittsburgh (18 miles east)...George Blanda, Youngwood, Pa (44 miles southeast)... Russ Grimm, Scottdale Pa (70 miles southeast)...Jimbo Covert, Conway Pa (1 mile east )...Fred Biletnikoff, Erie Pa (120 miles north)... are the other HoF'ers from the area.

No one deserves it more than those kids. They play against schools sometimes 3 to 4 times larger enrollment and continually win.

Funny thing is even with the great players that school.has produced. The best player from there is Tony Dorsett who did not go to that school
He and Ditka grew up in Linmar projects...Hawks brothers went to Quip but didn't take school or sports seriously getting into trouble n stuff...so momma Myrtle sent her youngest boy to Hopewell....he always said he grew up in 2 different worlds...Hawk and Ty Law are cousins

PIAA keeps pushing them to play much larger schools than their enrollment. I hope they win a State title again this year. God bless those kids and that program.
