I love how concisely you break down these books and talk about their themes while also sounding super passionate about them! definitely got a few more for my tbr
This is great! Definitely going to pick a couple of these up. You are so eloquent. Some of these books I heard about on other lists and thought "meh", but the way you described them has me eager to read them now!
You’re one of the only people who has actually recommended books I haven’t already heard a ton about or read before and actually sound interesting literally all of these are going on my tbr Edit: AND THEY AREN’T ALL YA!! As much as I love YA I don’t want to be limited to just that and weird voyeuristic romance novels with cheesy covers written by straight men. (No hate if you like airport books I just am not interested)
THANK U SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO !!!! wow, usually when i watch videos like this it's like 5 books and i've read 4 of them but this... WOW how do you even FIND so many lgbt books ?? thank u sm for sharing with the class 😭 🙏
@@asunnybooknook this might be a bad tactic because it will make doing vids like these harder in the future, but would u like.. idk, consider making a video talking about *how* u find so many diverse books ? idk if that's even something you actively think about vs the books just showing up in ur corner of the bookish web, but i'd be interested !!!
48:41 Woah...this is so crazy to me because Hank Green is the host of Crash Course aka a psychology/science series that is showed a lot in schools. It just blows my mind that he wrote a queer book because a lot of influential straight men are very anti-lgbtq. It's like my two worlds are mending.
sorry i’m late! so i have a book to suggest! this book is just a cute, short, book that i sped through when i first read it. it’s called “date me, bryson keller” and it’s literally AMAZING! i loved it so much, and couldn’t stop turning the pages. you should definitely read it!
I have been looking for this for so long its not even funny. I can't wait!! I realised the other day when one of my friends asked me what my favourite queer ships were, I had nothing to say and that really hit hard, so its amazing to find a comprehensive, diverse list to start from!
Fierce Femmes and Notorious Liars!! i love this book so much, it's brilliant. Monstress's art is to die for, I only read vol1 &2 couple of years ago, i need to reread them and continue on with the story.
Read This Is How You Lose The Time War this year and it was easily my favourite romance novel I’ve ever read, it was so beautifully written and I adore sci-fi and time travel stories, my copy is annotated out the wazoo because every single line is just heartbreakingly beautiful
So happy I found your video! I wanted books exactly in this area. I was looking for one genere and was planning to do another search for the rest but you hit them all in one. I'm so so happy you introduced People of Color. These all seem like a must to check out. Thank you!
Ohhhh, that's a great list! I've heard about most of them and at least half of it is on my tbr. But there are two or three titles I haven't heard about yet so thanks for sharing these, I'd love to look into those 💖🌈
I'm binge-watching all of your videos and I just wanna say that I love every single one of them so damn much. your videos really comfort me and inspire me; thank you for creating 🌙 also- you always look so cute! I love your makeup and your earrings
I'm so happy you talked about The last true poets of the Sea! I picked it up randomly at a bookshop and loved it a lot, but I hadn't seen anyone talk about it
Super excited about this! Just discovered Olivia Gatwood's book of queer poetry and it was everything I never knew I always needed! Thanks for doing this vid!
This was such a wonderful video! I knew almost all of these books (and many either I've read ore they're on my tbr!) but I had never ever heard of Bury the lede and I love the art and the synopsis, so I will be adding that one to my tbr as well
I’m late but.... Love this! Also, have you read House of Names by Colm Toíbín? It is SUCH a good book, one of my all time favorites! It’s set in ancient greece and retells a really dark myth from the pov of 3 characters, with 1 gay storyline, and holy hell it is magnificent. The first line of the book is the best I’ve ever read (I won’t spoil it for you if you’d want to read it 😆) and I genuinely hope you might read it one day!
I love the way you are able to break down those books and introduce them, I wish there were someone that did that with books in Italian, or at least with books that had an Italian translation.
There's another book i would want to recommend to people, it's called 'wish you all the best' and it follows a nonbinary person trying to get their life back together after their parent's kicked them out. And they fall in love with someone. It's a really cute book and I thought it would fit nicely in the comment section of this video.
thank you so damn much for creating this video! i've been feeling a bit stuck with my current reads, as i've been mostly reading classics, esp russian. i felt the need to explore a new genre and i've made so many notes from your video! will definitely get at least 10 from your recommendations. once again, thank you!
thank you so much for this video! i didn't read as much LGBTQ books as i would've liked last year and i really want to make sure to read more this year. This video was just so helpful and i got so many new books on my want to read list!
"Darius the Great Is Not Okay" is not queer. There is no discussion of Darius' sexuality in the book. I know that in the sequel it's actually explicit, but here it isn't, so it's not really a good book for queer themes specifically.
