To really test this, they shoulda had their moms each make their signature meal for Rhett & Link respectively & have the kitchen also create said meals to the dot and see if they could tell who made what/which tasted better
I would love to see an episode where each of their moms has prepared meals. And the Kitcheneres prepares the same. Then Rett'n Link has to guess which is made by whom.
i think part of the problem with this premise is that i have a hard time believing that josh can avoid putting at least a *little* bit of love into whatever he cooks
Technically, putting "love" into food is entirely in actions and not in words, in addition to attention to detail which gives the sensation of "love" because of the extra unnecessary effort put in
I agree with this, when I cooked tacos for my recent ex girlfriend. I really wanted to impress her with it because her whole family is Mexican, so when I made them for her one night I tried really hard, extra careful, just to make sure she liked them. And she did end up loving them, which ended up making me feel great inside. So yes, it's in actions, not words
I'm sorry but the amount of Chaos Josh brings to the table takes alot of love to sustain as energetically as he did. Therefore his food was infused with more love. Imho
I think that the "love" ingredient is actually: * A bit more sugar * Lower temp but more cooking time * Cutting the edge of the bread on sandwiches * Consistent cutting of ingredients So yeah, in this case "Love" is not the feeling but the way things are done differently. But hey, that's just a theory, a FOOD THEORY!!!! (MatPat, please don't sue me)
My interpretation of "made with love" is that someone who loves cooking will more than likely be a better cook than someone who doesn't enjoy it so therefore you can taste the love, as in, you can tell that the person who made it loves doing it. It has nothing to do with love for a person or even showing love towards the ingredients. Everyone who made food in this video loves cooking. I guarantee you would be able to tell the difference if you got someone in to make food for you who hates cooking and most likely never cooks as a result of that.
or, even more likely: that (regardless of whether you like cooking), you will try harder when you’re cooking for someone you love than when you’re cooking for your everyday life
I agree with this. My mum loves me and my siblings and is a good cook generally. But she hates cooking so the food is decent (still good) but not good good. However my brother who loves to cook and is just learning, his food tastes amazing. He enjoys the whole process and gets so excited about us all trying whatever he's learning to make at the time and you can just taste the happiness in the food. Its definitely a thing
The problem with the ''experiment" is that you know who made it, they both love you, and they are professional cooks. It would have been better if your Josh made one and some restaurant made the other. That would be love vs process.
I misread the ORIGINAL title as "Is cooking food better than making love?". Boy, would that have been a crazy episode! Probably a skit that's saved for Good Mythical Evening ;)
The reason foods made with love are particularly good is because the person making it is subconsciously keeping the preferences of the person that they are making it for in mind, and the outcome is the flavor and texture and smell and just everything is made with you in mind. It is made with you in mind, and thus winds up being exactly right for you in particular.
I like how Trevor explained what putting love into food is, in that one kitchen channel video love is, " taking the time to put in the extra steps that arent needed but really boost the taste and show you care"
Food made with love is when the person making it knows how to cook and cares a lot about the people who'll eat it. The ingredients will be well prepared as a result.
Yep. They could have easily tested this. Get a chef unconnected with the show. Give them the ingredients and recipe. Then give the kitcheneers the same ingredients and recipe and tell them they are making this food to feed their family/friends in a special episode.
I think Josh’s love for cooking messed up the test. He can say he hates it, but we all know he secretly whispers, “sweet nothing’s” to the ingredients.
They missed the mark on the hypothesis. Making food with love isn't saying "I love you to the food". It's made by someone who loves the person eating their meal. Experiment is a wash until this can be rectified
Again you guys saved my sanity after a night of holding sick folks together with duct tape begging for ICU beds we don’t have. You don’t know how important the little things are. I laughed so hard. GMM is my comfort food.
I think the "made with love" difference comes from someone who loves food, cooking, and making people happy. A person who pays special attention to every step of the cooking process and that gives it an edge.
People who love their job do tend to do way better at it because they have passion for the craft; so with cooking having a cook who is passionate about their cooking, proud of their food, and happy to see smiling customers the food tends to just taste and look better
I would love to see a part two of this with their Mom's cooking an identical meal and then having the mythical crew tasting and guessing which one is which.
To me the phrase 'cooking with love' means caring for the person that is going to eat the food by showcasing attention to detail, plate presentation, and quality of ingredients involved.
They might not have been able to prove the transference of love to food. But they did prove the transference of energy into clothing. They partner with cloak and Rhett is now a masochist 😂
The idea behind cooking with love is that you are sharing love for the person or people that are going to be eating the food, not the food itself. Until proven otherwise, I have to assume that you just tested the theory incorrectly and that's why it didn't work.
Guys GUYS cooked with love means the ambition to cook better than normal. Its not screaming or talking nicely to the food as it cooks but rather the way we humans can go above and beyond when we try to please another.
The idea goes beyond a bowl of food. It's from knowing who made it, pleasant memories, comfort of being part of the loving person, to the unconditional love that can't be replaced you know you've been given through the bowl of food.
