Yup. And as someone whos never heard of him before, i am so relieved/excited that he sounds very level-headed and straight up smart. Bright future for United!
As a Newcastle fan I’m gutted but Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world so who wouldn’t be interested! I think ten haag’s days are numbered though…
Actually imagine how good man utd would be if they structured their club properly with the finances they have .. scary, good thing it's such a circus up there 😂
What a fantastic insight by Dan Ashworth. He was one of the creators of the England DNA a few years ago, which was criticised by some people at the time. But considering England's progress to the World Cup semi-final and some of the tournament-winning youth teams in the past few years, that philosophy seems to be paying off
Ineos are attempting to rebuild from the top down...its absolutely critical they form a team of elite strategists, negotiators & leaders. With Berrada & potentially Ashworth & then letting them bring in people who they know can bring the same appetite...could be immense. Its crazy it took the Glazers to sell 25% & 10 years of total.failure to see the blindingly obvious... Sir Jim, is making ambitious moves but unfortunately the damage of 10+ years will take a good few (min. 3yrs) to resolve. I still don't know exactly how the JR/Glazer ownership model is going to work.....but lets see if the right jigsaw pieces finally get put in the right places. Ineos suggest they are focused on big data...getting Ashworth will bring that to reality. We need an entirely new scouting team who also know exactly what style we intend to play....otherwise they may aswell us FM for research 😏 I do hope Murtough gets removed but if Ashwofth comes in...i dont mind Fletcher staying to head up academy scouting.
That’s because of the man management and power that he had as manager, the players that were signed by him were coming to Ferguson, not to United for wages and stuff, to Ferguson and his way of man management and his way of how he lets the team play
Fergie was genuinely more like a technical director or club CEO than he was a manager. His assistant managers and coaches took all the training sessions and did a lot of the tactical stuff. Same thing with Klopp in his later years at Liverpool and also Wenger at Arsenal.
This man is everything Woodward is not. I got interested in the title cos I know my club lacks a good technical director and after listening to this man, most United fans and I are not wrong to want Woodward OUT!
I remember watching this interview when it happened & thought this guy was super impressive. Such great ability to articulate & give such strategic insight in such a tiny amount of time...he basically summised his role in a nutshell but showed he is so switched on to how everything must be linked & aligned to the same vision. I thought at the time, why can't utd get Ashworth? Well fingers crossed its happening now...& he + Berrada will be long term game changers!. Utd will still struggle until they restructure the squad...keeping Hojlund, Garnacho, Mainoo, Bruno & Martinez & building the team around them.
Tbf, he couldn't get Klopp back in 2013 because Klopp wanted to stay at Dortmund to knock Bayern off their perch. Klopp's former coach said that his dream was to manage Utd in the premier league.
The the last question he answered, now he is now working not only for a top 6 club, but the best and giant of England United ❤, and working as a football director as well not the usual technical director 🎉
@@nickraoyj I think DOF quite supercedes a manager in most areas that's why most don't want to work with one. Technical directors are used for negotiations and the running of the club
I remember watching this live and thinking, wow Man United dont have a clue under the Glazers on how to run a modern football operation. That was 4 years ago and only now, under a new leadership, they are getting this structure in place. As Ashworth explains it stems from a vision of the leadership. The Glazers have fufilled their vison, United is a cash cow and we dont care about on field performance. Lets hope this starts to see United enter a genuine progressive process.
Credit to the glazers for this appointment, they deserve all the credit for the acquisition of Berrada, Ashworth and Wilcox's football related services.
Any fellow Man united fan that’s here after that huge breaking news that he is open for a move to man utd?? 😊
get in
I'm so hyped
no 😉

4:26 Dan Ashworth articulating precisely the problem with Man Utd, 4 years ago😂
4:25 He just explained What’s wrong with Man UTD without mentioning them.
Solskjaer doesn't have any principals and philosophies
Yeah except ole is playing the same brand of football as mourin and seems to have given up on his philosophy and ideas

Exactly why it was bad decision to sack jose so early

John Murtaugh & Darren Fletcher also disliked this video.

To think that Sir Alex did most of this work himself for 26years .

Can someone tag Woodward so he can see how a football club is really run

I'm here after the news of Dan Ashworth as a DoF. And recently, Jason Wilcox as a technical director.
BT Sport is low-key talking about Man United in this discussion.

Exactly...😂
The vision is looking good at halftime
Even better at full-time. 🤣
Fantastic interview can someone send it to Ed Woodward, the Glazers, OGS and his coaching staff.
Very insightful and so so true,
Seems like Sir Jim finally has
WELCOME DAN 🎉🎉
Well spoken, professional
Welcome to Manchester United ❤
We need him in Manchester United, please 🙏
and now we got him 🤎🤎🙏🏾🙏🏾

Phenomenal achievement to be fair
Even when he left, they’re still around mid table premier league and are closing in on 10 years in the Prem

In fact it sounds like DOF and TD are pretty much the same thing...now I am wondering if Fletcher's role should be made redundant altogether.

Stop disrespecting Brighton by asking Dan why he chose them and not a top 6 club.
Came here after Man Utd linked with him
Today I learned that I might be slightly taller than Dan Ashworth, just slightly.
This is the guy for Man Utd 👏
