Ms. Davidson: I am a 93 yearold wc painter from the USA and I find your tutorials excellent teaching moments. I learn something new each time I do one of your totorials. Mnay, many thanks. Jim Drummond
Dear Lois, after watching many of the videos you posted over the past months and months, I have become a silent admirer and finally was brave enough to leave you my first ever comment on RUclips. I really enjoy the wonderful loose and free way, in which you magically produce these charming landscapes. I have started exploring water colour myself and often loose myself in too much detail and everything gets very tense and overworked. But recently I have started to paint one sky per day (like you recommend in one of your previous videos) and just let myself be inspired by what appears before me and what the water and the colours do. Thank you so much for all the good tips and the wonderful inspiration. I will keep watching ... ... ... :-)
Thanks so much, your comment has made my day, one sky a day and your approach sounds like the perfect way to progress and really enjoy watercolour painting :-)
Thanks for giving us a close-up of the palette Lois. It was really important to understand just HOW thick your paint was, and your hake looked like you'd squeezed it almost dry. Very useful 👍
I have taken to watercolor painting recently and was really getting frustrated with mixing. Fortunately while scrolling Pinterest, I came across one of your landscapes ( the three color one). Just halfway through the video on RUclips became new subscriber. Now it has become a ritual to watch your video everyday . I have learnt so much from you. N by practicing strokes, the mixing is getting better. I have finished the very first landscape,( came out pretty decent) . Thanks for sharing your valuable knowledge with us .🙏🙏
Love your technique and teaching methods. You can tell that you have worked with small children as your voice is soothing to listen to. I have watched a lot of videos on RUclips and have never made comments. A lot of them I have to turn off the sound. I’ve been so inspired by your wonderful skies using a hake brush that I have bought some. Still practicing!
I have just found your channel. This painting demo has captured me. The softness of the painting and the calmness of your presentation is just what I needed. Thank you 😊.
Great tutorial on a style that's less elusive to me know. I felt adventures and added viridian green here and there. Happy with the outcome. Thank you so much!
Really lovely painting Lois! Love the softness and the feeling of perspective from different tones! Hard to imagine a snowy landscape from sydney at the moment!
Thanks so much Scott, no snow here yet, we don’t often get it in the South 😊 tomorrow for a complete contrast I am posting a very busy semi abstract coral reef 😉🤔🤣🌊🌊🌊
You all probably dont give a shit but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@George Musa thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Love it! Thank you so much for sharing. So invigorating! Now, I want to try painting, using some of your techniques: very wet, and letting paint diffuse down the page, and also, using a card to etch into the dark paint to distinguish and suggest 'tree trunks' in the distant tree line of the landscape! Excellent. Beautiful work, master painter!
Rigger brush- what is the size ? And thank you for your videos. I’m a begginer but I aldeady see impovement after having followed and painting along with your great advises.
Really beautiful, I love all the shadows that create naturally thanks to the edges that the wet part creates with the dry part! For some reason I can't get the white of the paper back when I scratch the painting with the card.. what can the reason be?
Thank you! Maybe you are trying to scratch when the paint is either too wet or too dry, it needs to be somewhere between the too, just damp, maybe try an experiment on a scrap of paper and paint a very wet thick mark then try to scrape a white mark every minute or so so you can then find out how your paper reacts as most paper is slightly different
I think you must be having a little joke here 🤞🤣🌲, most deciduous trees loose their leaves, although some of these hold onto their leaves throughout, a phenomenon known as marcescence, but as I’m sure you must know, all evergreen trees keep their leaves through the winter! 🌲

Thanks Barbara, I'm glad it was helpful!
Winter trees I used to find depressing. The last few years I’ve begun embracing their lacy ness.
That you for this lovely Winter science.
Thanks so much, I love winter trees :-)

@@LoisDavidsonArt Thank you for your kind reply Lois!
Nice video! Onto what type of board do you paste the paper?
Thanks, its an A3 size board meant for acrylic or oil painting but it makes a good painting board for me, I have a few
Cool. Keep it up!
Thanks!
Очень красиво!
Thanks so much!
Magnífico parabéns 👏🏻
Thanks so much!
❤️❤️❤️
When you turned the board 🤯
Hello, does the paper use wateford sanders react well in wet on wet?
Well your watercolor is fine.
Sincerely Arthur, from to France👍
Thanks! Saunders Waterford is wonderful for wet in wet, one of my favourite papers 👍😊
Why do you paint winter trees with the leaves still on. In my country the USA, they do not have, they fall off in Autumn.
I think you must be having a little joke here 🤞🤣🌲, most deciduous trees loose their leaves, although some of these hold onto their leaves throughout, a phenomenon known as marcescence, but as I’m sure you must know, all evergreen trees keep their leaves through the winter! 🌲
Really beautiful paintings, you make them look so effortless. But I am not able to look at your videos in HD.
Thank you
