- This week I make a return to my art journal after realising I haven't been art journaling for a while now. I'm also talking about why I think that is. As well as making painted pages in my journal I am also painting flowers in my Flower Power Series. I had an absolute ball learning to paint different flowers this week on my favourite thing; canvas squares! I also realised that I needed to make further changes to find a true work-life balance as juggling all I have to do has become too much for me to create consistently. Self-care to the max right??! Also, this week, I have carved out specific time to work on my shop and new products too so I am explaining what I'm up to there too. Softest hugs, biggest loves and thanks for being with me on my journey. Xxx

Thank you for sharing your studio and life so openly. I Just made my first purchase in your Etsy shop. This summer I completed my last prerequisite, applied for the Nursing program and I was accepted! I start full-time this Monday the 23rd. I wanted to say thank you for sharing your creativity with us. I always come back to your videos when I'm feeling stuck or too 'narrow-minded' with my art. I'm no professional and just sketch for myself as a hobby. Yet somehow I still find myself criticising my own doodling and thinking that my drawings aren't worth 'ruining' a cheap sketchbook. But you remind me that art is personal and just a way form of self-expression. Everyone can do it, and everyone is talented in their own way.
Wendy, what about reusing folded cardboard from your canvases instead of bubble wrap,which isn't very ecofriendly? And also you could glue prints of your lovely different flower series to your canvases and varnish them instead of haviing to make so many originals, lovely as they are. It would reduce your work load and I'm sure people would love to buy them. Love your content and art work. A big fan.

I believe that for an artist to be happy within its soul, the true love for art trumps everything else. We all need to eat, but food is only fuel for our body to function. I grow food myself and because of that I will never be a starving anything
Beautiful art Wendy, love that last one you are doing, definitely has that old world look. Im always noticing those large canvases stacked against the, are they for Patreon or do you also love to paint 'big'? Do you ever show or sell them (maybe you have another channel. As I dont do FB or Instagram I dont know what else you do....but whatever it is keep it coming. You make my day every day and am happy to look at your older videos if there's nothing new. Hi Wendy - Just fyi - be cautious and light with with the fixative spray. I was spraying a mixed media piece, a lot came out in what I thought was a light spray, and it ended up pooling on
the piece. It did seem eventually to dry, and thankfully it didn't cause any damage ... but I'll be a lot more gentle and tenuous with that fixative the next time! x

Love your self-care fairy, would like to see her on a journal/ bag/ other product. Have been enjoying your videos and am inspired by your authenticity, your focus on self-care and your observations about how to maintain a creative practice. I mostly use creative writing for wellbeing but am currently feeding the creative well by watching your videos while crocheting a tarot bag, a return to a craft I learnt as a child. Thankyou for the fixative info, Wendy. I also used to use hairspray and aerosol fixatives. I have avoided them altogether in the past few years because I couldn't find an environmentally friendly one. The one you've been using looks great

Trying not to offend, your flower power paintings, I've seen exactly the same thing in the Dollar General here in my town in the US. Granted they are massed produced. I bought two and scraped most of the paint off to reuse in a trial project. Not high quality canvases but that's ok. I do love your fairies and other works. That includes the wonderful videos on your other attributes. Still a big fan.🍀

I love the colors of the canvas square painting at 20:09! I use the squares in my work too and really enjoy them. As always, xo many thanks for you and your courage to shine.
A tip that Judy Vee suggests that in the morning we take at least an hour or 2 just for self such as meditation good breakfast journalling gratitude , then go to work after that . I have been practicing this and have found a difference in how productive I have been as well feeling better and the universe love when we show that we care and love our selves . I think we all struggle with this dear we can get to busy doing and forget about taking care of our self .

A customer who has been waiting for her pieces throughout the “situation” let me know she is ready for them! I had one unfinished of the three, of course this propelled me, and just the process was so satisfying! Not only my neglected self-care but losing my magic motivation to complete projects! I was able to complete a few watercolors and pencil drawings throughout but not major projects, this push has energized me! You are so busy and accomplishing everything, I am overjoyed to hear of your new plans! Blessed and safe days!

Which one city and you live and painting
First time commenting, my aussie 5 cents worth. When you run a small business, especially from 'home' & even more with your significant other, work life balance is a very difficult thing to find. Because you know every raelxing & 'down' moment could be productive business time. I don't have the answer, but 1 thing I do try, is to be aware of 'afternoons off'. Instead of weekends etc that a lot of the working world has, which is not realistic in small business, I try & plan for either a luxurious sleep in, maybe with a tea tray & jarmies, or an afternoon 'off', off means NO work, no work think, no work talk, no work imagining. It means doing the silly, or mundane, or a walk, or cooking something exciting, or bingeing several shows or movies, but it is absolutely nothing related to the business. x

Flowers are my thing, I do a lot of abstract floral artwork. I have always wanted a camper and a few weeks ago I found one!!. I planned on going to get it and see a friend in London and then go to Glastonbury as I was there in May on a retreat. In the middle of me buying it I was gifted another Retreat and also the friend in London so we both headed to Glastonbury in my new van. I actually drove past your building and really wanted to say hi !!!!but we have never met and it would have been rude to just turn up ha ha so just shouted it out to you !!! Maybe one day I will bump into you in Glastonbury I would love to live there one day. Will look forward to seeing you on your van holiday Wendy take care xx
