    At the height of Stoner's career, he really WAS the best. He won a championship on a Ducati after beating Rossi on his Yamaha. Later Rossi was on a Ducati and Stoner of a Honda. Rossi still couldn't beat him. Rossi is a Legend, no doubt about that. But Stoner was, at the zenith of his career, simply amazing.

      At the day when rossi joined Ducati, that Ducati wasn't strong and that was the era where they were changing Ducati and made it worse. The time of stoner the Ducati was a beast, casey was strong only in best bikes. You can see even doviziozo was strong in honda but even doviziozo in Ducati was bad and it was the same bike of rossi which was given to doviziozo and it took almost three years to put that Ducati in fighting for world championship only at 2017 Ducati became the best bike and if rossi had joined Ducati in 2018 may be he would have done the same as casey and for me casey is not that brilliant on late braking and sometimes people think casey beated rossi if rossi overtake him at last lap, you know rossi is a showman and every riders always don't look for trouble and they try to go away one overtake but rossi doesn't go away and he loves to fight and when people see rossi overtaking at last, some people say that rossi is struggling to get past stoner and some people say stoner is fighting back with rossi and stoner for me was best on a best bike and when lorris caoirossi was in Ducati he was very strong as well, he was much more older than stoner and was more aggressive than stoner but not consistent. The bike was competitive so stoner won the championship. I don't like stoner because stoner accuses rossi and tells bad about him in interview and even Marquez doesn't say anything on public. People say rossi can't fight with stoner and stoner beated him and rossi won 2 world championship titles by defeating stoner in 2008 and 2009. Rossi forever and some idiots tells bad about someone if they can't defeat another person or win over another person and still when rossi was with Marquez rossi still came top 3 in world championship with Marquez who was more aggressive and talented than stoner. Casey is nothing infront of marc Marquez anyway.

    "He's the best bike with the best rider". Rossi admits, he's always been clear and sincere. I appreciate so much this from Rossi, also, that's why he has always been the greatest in anything he has done. Stoner was terribly strong, this guy must remember this, we've always been loving him when he rode, and he must know we still love him so much, and I pray God he may heal soon. So, best wishes from me and all those you have made happy in watching you ride, and we still thank you and we all have so much care for your health and your wellness at all. Rossi was the greatest at any minute of his career, he won everything remaining humble, fair and sincere. You are two champions, i'm not interested in saying who was the best, Valentino and you deserve only and all the best. Thank you if you both agree, and thank you to all those who can understand what i say.

    I watched Casey doing things which seems to be impossible. He revolutionize the riding style in MotoGP along with Jorge Lorenzo. But Casey Stoner is best with his power slide technique and Marquez manages to replicate that technique. I still idolize Casey Stoner it's even written on my helmet.

    • @toivonencresto
      @toivonencresto 3 года назад +1

      Please. Stoner maybe is the Greatest ever in terms of pure speed (but they say Hailwood was just the same, and Hailwood was way better than Casey looking at the whole packege), but it didn't invent nothing. Doohan won 5 (and I put the '92 also) 500 world championships riding this way, so did Wayne Rayney, and rear sliding was absolutely normal back in the 500 2t era. And they have (in MotoGP) tc, anti wheel system, and electronic system for the maximum power engine can get in relation of gears. This for the Great Casey. PS Lorenzo? Biaggi did ride like this.

    • @WestbrickFansGotNoBrains
      @WestbrickFansGotNoBrains 2 года назад +5

      @@toivonencresto please. nobody would dare open throttle and slide through the corners like stoner did on 1000cc until recently with the assist with electronics.
      mm93 had stoner riding style except mm93 was better at the brakes and stoner is better and controlling the throttle with limited electronics.
      rossi was doing the same on 500cc bikes back then but he never did so when he went up to 1000cc premier class, not on honda, not on yamaha. it's suicide.

      @WestbrickFansGotNoBrains 2 года назад +4

      @@toivonencresto and stoner renowned for "turning down the electronics", preferring to ride by the sensitivity in his throttle hand rather than requiring the electronics to control the engine.
      rossi did similar style in 500cc bikes era but he never did again in 1000cc era until later stage of his career.
      stoner has been doing it since 2000s when he entered premier class even with the ducati. which is a graveyard for many great riders and world champions.
      rossi career almost ended with ducati as well.
      fans like you talk big, saying rossi was sliding in 500cc bike, if stoner can do it on ducati so can rossi.
      but then rossi was so bad at the same ducati stoner rode. he was achieving same results as his ducati teammates meanwhile stoner is outperforming his ducati teammates by a miles.
      the moment stoner left ducati he won a title.
      the modern tech bikes we have today, are pretty much based on achievement stoner-mm93 style of sliding through the corners, higher entry and exit speed while not losing time at the corner with the help of electronics.
      if you even bother watching rossi and listen to what he said.
      he changed his riding style so drastically that you thought it was 2 different rider. i have never seen rossi lean so low prior to 2020-21 season.

      Pesonally, I believe that in 2013 Casey would have won, as Marquez won that WC mostly due to the advantage taken while Lorenzo and Pedrosa had physical problems, as he was not clearly superior to them in pace in most races, but from 2014 I think we'd witness an outstanding battle between these two (with Rossi, Lorenzo and Pedrosa). It's a shame he was depressed and no longer interested in racing due to electronics.

      passive FIST give Ducati credit. They outdid the Japanese with the new 800 rules. The bike clearly got worse after 2008, by 2010 Stoner struggled with it until Aragon when he found something that allowed him to win the race and then Philip Island. There’s a reason he left and went to Honda after all.
      The other lesson of MotoGP is that in 2012 with just as good a package he couldn’t beat Lorenzo and Pedrosa. These guys are champions and to pretend that Stoner was some magician in a league of his own isn’t true. That doesn’t mean he wasn’t incredible, he is a two time champion after all.

He allowed the bike to move as much as it needed to in order to get around a corner the quickest. On a stightly different note, he mentioned that even from his first year on it (07), even though the bike was an absolute rocket in a straight line, he was losing the front (& saving it) anywhere between 3 to 4 times every single lap. Hi Eellie87. As a fan of both he & Vale, I get what you're saying. Rossi himself admitted to following Casey at times & also watching hours of video footage of him on the big red bike, & he said that as much as he followed & studies him, he just could not replicate Casey's style. Casey said something really interesting recently. He said that the big mistake others were making was that they were trying to fight against the bike, ...... cont'

    As far as Vale goes, most of the field also feel that Valentino has the best race-craft overall. I agree with both of those points. Over their career racing each other, Casey wins out on the stats department (head to head) comfortably. In regards to their career records, Valentino comes out on top, but not against each other. These two riders are regarded as the 2 most naturally talented riders as of last year. Pity we won't be seeing the Jorge, Casey, Dani & Valentino show this year, damn it :(

    Casey was incredibly fast, but he was never a complete rider. He could set a blistering time on a bike on a clear rack. Casey never managed to win a dog fight, he couldn't win from anywhere other than pole. He couldn't handle when under pressure. Casey is undoubtedly one of the all time greats, after all he won on two different bikes. I would rate Stoner Above Marquez, it is that he just didn't receive the amount of hype Marquez is receiving now. I would love to see Casey back on Ducati again. I am sure he can win the championship on the new Ducati.

      +Sam Rad Have to disagree with that one, No rider can run at the front and pull wins in 125cc or 250cc races without being able to win a "dog fight".
      Those 125 and 250cc races were always big fights, lots of riders all buying for the same piece of tarmac.

      dpisaacs Stoner? He never won a dog fight, not even a single one. In 2007 Rossi beat him in corners for Casey to cruise past Rossi in straights. That was the case for entire 2007. Still, I think he was a great rider.

    Not trying to get into the argument of who's better, but when did Stoner go back down to the 250 class? He came to the big bikes in 2006 on the LCR Honda, crashed the fuck out of it repeatedly, but showed his potential. 2007-2010 he was with Ducati, 2011 with Honda, then retired.

    Stoner is not charismatic person in the MotoGP paddock and that's why I did not like him at all. Always something to complain.
    But when I look at him as a rider, I can't see anything negative. What he did on the ducati, a bike that no one at that time could handle, was amazing. No one ever came close to that with that bike. He's one of the most talented riders of all time IN MY OPINION. I gained a lot of respect for him as a rider. I get why he's leaving, but it's a shame. Do you understand what prime means? If somebody rides the bike best when they are 90 years of age that means their prime is at 90. Doohan's prime was achieved when he was 30 and Rossi's prime was when he dominated the MotoGP class. Stoners prime is when he won 2 championships in 5 years where 2 of those years he was beaten by Valentino on the Yamaha. The fact is that Rossi made the likes of Gibernau Barros Biaggi look like losers because he was so dominant.

  • @KJ_XCV

    That is clearly NOT what I said. What I said was "If Rossi hadn't been in MotoGP" which in English means, If he did not ride in the MotoGP championship, OBVIOUSLY someone else would have won championships and those people would have been Barros, Biaggi etc. Sure that lacked consistency to win championships but to say they are slow is ridiculous. All of these have won races on their good days. Ok fine Rossi lost to Hayden in 06. Then guess what? Stoner lost to the guy who lost to hayden in 08 09!
