This is and IDEA on how to install your head unit
good video, maybe a little less music and more talk as you were making the connections. The tool kit you showed was really helpful in the removal.
You can unplug the air bag as long as the ignition is off, do not turn ignition on at any point with air bag unplugged or you will have an air bag indicator light on that only the dealer, or audio shop can can turn off which cost money. Also when doing aftermarket head units in nissans always do the ground to the chassis , use another ground by itself from the head unit or u will usually get feedback in your speakers.
this sounds important but i dont understand. are you saying i should use two grounds. im an electrician but i know little about car stereos. i can do it but i need direction so could u explain this again?
art satzger yes about the grounds in almost all nissan vehicles you should use 2 grounds. Use the factory one that's in the car harness , than come off that with another wire An ground it with a self tapping screw or bolt to a good known ground . Don't use an existing factory ground bolt tho.. you want your second ground to be by itself. Even one of the screws that hold the radio chassis to the dash is fine if the chassis is metal. Reason for this second ground is in most cases with Nissan the factory ground in the harness is not very good. Yes in most cases it's good enough to power up the radio , but I've had a lot of cases where the radio wouldn't even power up without that second ground. Also I've had cases where the radio would keep resetting itself with the time, EQ settings etc , and hear a whining noise through the speakers every time you accelerate the vehicle it would get louder ..adding that second ground gets rid of all those issues . As an electrician you know a good ground is important ...in the car audio world that good ground is just as important . Also make sure your antenna is plugged in nice An tight too because in some vehicles the antenna is a second ground An the radio will not turn on unless the FM antenna is plugged in... Dodge /chryslers are known for this stupid idea .

I'm just a car audio tech who happen to be bored one night ,An started watching random RUclips videos An came across this video an added in my 2 sense lol. Good luck on your install ...An remember if you unplug your airbag light make sure your key is off an out of the ignition first, An DO NOT turn the car on with the airbag unplugged. Safest way would be disconnecting the negative battery terminal before you do anything.
You can reset the air bag light on your own no need to pay nothing
Good job explaining the removal of unit but so much missing in this video that was dubbed by the music. No mention of wiring harness for Nissan and part number. Could have been a much better video

You are correct to never disconnect the airbag connection.

I hate the lack of a physical volume knob. Sorry, I just do. If all else fails on a terrible bumpy road, I love to be able to just crank the volume down if needed.

Hi friend , no I take the unit off there's no frame for that kinda gap I suggest if you bought it from car joying to contact them and get your money back i ask them about this issue and they say no frame Don buy this unit won't fit

hello the GPS signal works really good I have no problems when I go on the road also you can do a lot of custom stuff on the gps . I will try to make a quick video review on the GPS , as updating I think is possible we have to check with the carjoying team .

Thank you for the video. Is this tablet style version of the Joying 7" without buttons and knobs better than the other radio version with the volume knob and buttons? Is there a way on this one to quickly mute the stereo without having to take eyes off the road? Or if you are driving and you suddenly have to mute the stereo, do you need to find the down volume button on the left and keep pressing it repeatedly until stereo is muted?

Did you find out which usb input is able to read usb media? You said you would label them as usb1 and usb2, but did you see if both can read media?

Hello I have a joying head unit however when I try to connect my phone via USB the phone isn't recognised, I have tried multiple phones.
Is it possible to actually view media and transfer files via this method sort of like an external hard drive?
Did you find a trim piece to fit around the new stereo. I have a 2010 Frontier with the same dash. Seems simple enough, but curious if you have a part supplier and part number for the trim piece to close the gaps. Stereo looks great.

Hi Alex, love the tablet idea. i have a question that i was hoping you might be able to help with. I'm in the UK and have a 2007 Vauxhall Astra (h) mk5 (SATURN ASTRA IN THE STATES) with a BID display and I want to keep all the audio controls the same from the center console and steering wheel but just change the BID display to a android tablet. Did you really just drop the GPS antenna down in the dash, yea that's gonna work real good. At least put it on top of the radio.
