- A short video on how I've altered my tuba mutes to work in various instruments, including the larger 6/4 variants, along with a few other useful modifications to make them easier to use.
Hope this is a help to you guys! Видеоклипы

Great tips Chris! Also much cheaper than buying a whole other mute for each tuba.
Your practice room is bigger than my appartment lol
I realize Im quite off topic but does anybody know of a good website to stream newly released movies online ?
@Cameron Jacob Flixportal :D
@Graham Javion Thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service :D Appreciate it!
@Cameron Jacob You are welcome xD
You could fit most of the woodwind section in that mute.
At least the soprano and alto members of those families, yes.
I really appreciate your thoughts on tuba mutes and you answer some of the questions I’ve had about making the mute more quiet in and out of the bell. This is great! Thank you so much!
very informative video! I personally use a Husenberg Stone lined, but the small size that fits my B&S Perantucci F tuba, and with meter sticks that I have built extra cork onto that velcro onto the mute in between the stock corks. I will have to try the rubber feet on my mute! I usually lean it against my chair so it doesnt roll around haha!
This is exactly what I was looking for as a solution to not having to buy multiple mutes for the medium and large tuba!
Glad it helps!
Cool stuff Chris! Thanks for sharing.
Great stuff! Greetings from Peru!
Let's hear about the big Miraphone!
The appluance feet make it look like a robot head sticking out of your bell - maybe someone will do googly eyes instead, lol. I had one mute that came with velveteen tape at the tip, but otherwise I put moleskin at the tip of my mute to prevent the bell dings.
This is great information! Thank you very much for sharing!
Love it! But, I will try to use stick-on bumpers. Is that closed cell, or neoprene insulation? Neo is softer, and more pliable. Lastly, your tape and foam hack reminded me of the "rubber" tool dip for covering/recovering handles on pliers, hammers, and such... Please keep on making these videos!
I've never even used a tubs mute. I just wanted to watch and hear tuba
Has anyone here ever made a homemade practice mute? I'm trying to save up for a Denis Wick practice mute, but I need a solution in the meantime because I won't have the room in my budget for another few months.
U get one yet?
Now you need one for a recording bell
Those things are bigger than I though

I do not see much of difference
