I'm kinda with you. Maybe it was a bad display of the gameplay, but he really did just spin boxes for 5 minutes and then still lost.
It does get boring quick. no matter what character you pick. I'm playing closed beta. It's not engaging enough.
As a die hard Crash fan, you're not wrong. If they wanted a spin off, they could have done a party game like Crash Bash with more mini games and enhance the ones that already existed. Huge missed opportunity so we instead have... whatever this is.
I've played the beta for hours. It's addicting and doesn't really get boring too quickly imo

This is such a "I'll give it a try if it's on Game Pass" game. Slide around and collect fruit, is that it? That's all there is to it? This seems like the gamemode nobody would play from Crash Multiplayer.
Crash is more focused on just collecting the fruits, other characters like Dingodile are more focused on fighting enemy players.

That first game ending felt toxic. They don't fight each other until the very end, but when it's neck and neck, you just see the enemy players spawn in oxide on your base and camp there until they win. That's frustrating to watch.

All you have to do is coordinate relic collection, get the spiked bubble and run through to bank wumpa. It's a team game

How did they miss an opportunity for this to be a free to play title with a name change and characters from all of their properties?
It's clear that this was supposed to be a DLC for Crash 4, I mean, there's only one thing to do and the maps are really small, hell even those brawling minigames on Crash Bash that you would throw crates at each other were more fun that this. Rumble is like a secondary game mode made standalone. Not worth $30.
Still waiting for Spyro 4.

Crash Bandicoot Warped was my first video game ever! I'm a huge Crash Bandicoot fan, and so glad its been getting attention....that being said, this feels really lazy and uninspired...c'mon, do better activision...

Looks fun but fleeting. It would probably make a great couch multiplayer game but I'm assuming it's online only.
It'd be a bit interesting if there was a more direct combat mode where the fruit acted as ammo for projectiles and score at the same time. Like how Ooga Booga on the Dreamcast worked.

if this is the only game mode, my excitement for this game just crashed to practically 0. Doesn't look bad, but doesn't look fun enough or non-repetitive enough to be a game I'd wanna play regularly if this is it
