It was all over the Disney Channel. I still remember Roger Rabbit being the huge news back in the late 80s. I still remember when Toon Town was revealed at Disneyland in the 90s. Who remember's the ice cream treats Mickey's Parade? (go see the commercial). Wish those days would return.
I went there in '88. I'm from New Zealand. Never been overseas since. I remember a band came out of the ground on a stage. Think the lady singer had blonde hair. What an amazing time. I should write all my memories down. I was 8.

Or point at the People-mover track and ask "What the hell is that?" The Battle grey submarine ride that kept the cold war buzzing in the back of our heads. Man, those were the Days!

They spent all the money to Disney studios! Many rides can’t work all the day : Big Thunder Mountain or Finding Nemo or constantly out of order all days.... For us, we prefer going to another european parks cheaper and with high quality compare to Disney Resort in France : it’s pity!! All the magical is disappeared now it’s only money money money with no quality 😡
I was born 84 and I did not become a major DL fan until early 200s I only been when I was 12yrs. but from early 20s until my age now 33 I am a big DL fan.

Great video. Brings back heaps of memories of me going there as a kid in the 80s. After 30+ years I now remember those elephants!!! I think this must be really early 80s though, as it doesnt have Tomorrowland (I think it was called?)
80s were the best. People didn't have giant racial chips on their shoulders. We all had fun and didn't take ourselves seriously. It will be up to your generation to save the country from millennials, who are dead set on ruining it. Stay strong.

I agree 100% I'm 30 and I visited recently and I thought maybe because I wasntva child anymore but looking back at old pics and videos I realized that magic wasn't there how it used to be. So much has changed. I pics as a kid with the 7 dwarfs. U couldn't pay to get that nowadays. Characters used to walk around all day now you wait in line. Sad but at least we have the memories
I have gone to Disneyland since the early 80s and I understand your nostalgia but disagree with you. I love the memories of the last 30+ years but it is better for me now than it has ever been! I love to look back and catch a glimpse of the memories and moments that are no longer there which is sad but as a whole I am glad I can tap into the magic that has apparently dissolved for some. Disneyland has changed here and there but I suspect most of the lost "something" is personal expectation. Roll with it, buy into the new experiences and have fun along with the vast majority of the attractions that are classic and still there to this day!
Let's hope Disney starts going back to some of its old ways with a new management and starts undoing a lot of the changes in recent times i.e., restoring pirates (no more jack) and, selling off lucasfilm and marvel and removing them from the parks, and kicking Frozen out.

I know but to me there is no Van Nuys Airport in LA only LA international Airport and to me Disneyland is in the San Fernando Valley at 16461 Sherman Way, Los Angeles, CA 91406.
I would like to say something that goes along with the ongoing argument about the location of the park. I lived in California for most of my life. Disneyland is located in ANAHEIM, CA. ORANGE FUCKING COUNTY. Can we please knock it off and let it WTF!

Disneyland admission prices have not exceeded CPI by much over the years. This isn’t a Disney problem - it’s a Federal Reserve problem.
